I've got the tools and a lot of free time. I started PB Blasting the bolts yesterday. I'm more concerned about towing the camper home and risking high EGTs. I am just a lowly well-traveled 32 years young!

So last week I installed a set of 7x10 injectors. I am thoroughly impressed with them but they make me nervous with my stock HY35. I'm traveling for work right now and happened on a good deal on an HX35 off another 01. I scooped it up because of the price. No shaft play and looks pretty good. From what I've read this should be a direct swap for the HY. Is there anything else I may need? I'm planning on hauling my fifth wheel back home Friday and may try to install in the hotel parking deck. I'm sure they will love that! The HX should have lower EGT's than the HY correct? Thanks!

It is NOT 5/8-18. The thread pitch is M16x1.5. kind of an odd all but I've got the tap. I'm going to make a few prototypes out of brass. I would rather the tool be softer than the connector tube. Agree?

Consider it done. Or just tell me what thread pitch it is and I can make some. I actually put that one in the core return box with a note detailing the issue with it to DAP and hopefully they can include modified nuts with their kits.

I'm new to 2 stroke oil but I'm trying to come up with a good and efficient means of dosing it. I've got a gallon jug in the tool box but would like to be able to accurately measure what I'm putting in. Preferably a sealable container so it doesn't get contaminated throwing it back in the box. What are y'all using? P.S. getting a package from dap today. Injectors going in this afternoon.

This is my daily loadout. 16hrs a day. Shield 45 in a burly man tactical brawler iwb rig, Hyve Technologies exteneded mag, ESEE 3 in an armatus carry scout sheath, keys and wallet by armatus.

I've got a borescope I'll take a peek in there with. I was planning on complete removing the injector lines so I could clean the top of the intake manifold really well.

Gotcha. Brake cleaner it is. I've read your write-up and watched a few YouTube videos so I'm confident that it's not going to be that bad. Except for number 6.

Would it be safe to clean the crossover tubes and injector lines in the partswasher? Any particular grease to use?

Well today I pulled the trigger on a set of DAP 7 x 0.010 injectors. I agree that if I am far enough in there to change the connector tube seals that I may as well replace the injectors with close to 300k on them. The kit is supposed to come with the connector tube tool and everything needed. Anything else I need to have on hand? I've had the lines off in the past replacing the VP and again for the tappet cover so that is straight forward. Valve cover has been off before adjusting valves . Going to have to hold off on the quad for a while until fundages improvis. Thanks Dave

Unfortunately we're not a mechanics shop. We design and manufacture custom robotic welding equipment for the nuclear/shipbuilding/petrochemical industries. We are a small company less than 10 people so we all have full use of the shop for side projects. I actually have a drs appt tomorrow at 1:30 for a damn kidney stone but I will be available anytime before that or after 3. Saturday is the wife's birthday and Sunday is my wife's baby shower. If you can get there before 1 you can go ahead and pull it in the bay and get started on it. I shouldn't be too long at the doc. Dave

I do have some easy outs but they are harbor freight specials. Our shop is about 5 miles off of 77. I also have a bunch of left handed drill bits. Might be able to get it out with those. Considering that it didn't break from being over tightened, it broke from being levered on it shouldn't be galled. Should come right out . Dave

Wow lots of Dave's. I'm one too! Where ya working at drip? I live in York SC and can use my shop at work in Rock Hill for anything needed. We have a full machine shop and I am a welding guru. I have been running my starter with a broken ear for about 4 years. One of the bottom ears is broken but the flange bolt still grabs about 50% of it. If you have the broken ear I can weld it back on Dave

04mach1 electric fuel pressure sender? It may be on the fritz. My old electric FP gauge would do that also.

Any particular brand to go with? I take your advice as gospel on these things.

That does bring up the question for me as what injectors to go with. I know I would like to do the quadzilla tuner in the near future. I'd be almost 100% positive that the injectors are original. I bought the truck from the original owner and he never mentioned injectors.. My mileage does kind of suck and that may be a factor.

Dripley will do on the connector tube o-rings. I am not the original owner. Purchased it in 2011 with 165k on it. When you talk about the injectors are you saying to replace them also or just the seals? I recently had Blackstone labs do an oil analysis on it because I thought I was making oil. I was about a quart high after a change. The report came back showing no fuel in the oil so it had to have been my mistake filling it up. Thanks

Do you think that it would be a good idea for me to replace all the connector tube o-rings? I'm sure it's never been done. Thanks
