Well she's home and unpacked. No instructions whatsoever. This should be fun!

Just got through notification that it's in Port. I have to drive down to Charleston tomorrow and pick it up. 400 miles round trip or $800 shipping. Think I'll drive!

I only personally own one yeti coffee mug and it was a gift. It works great but I'm just as happy with my Wal-Mart Ozark Trail tumblers.

For a few years now I have had a woodworking business on the side as a hobby/extra income. I do a lot of wood turning, mainly bowls, as well as custom furniture. I use only traditional joinery techniques with no metal fasteners. If you've ever watched Roy Underhill on the Wood Wright's shop, that's what I'm going for. I started looking for a new niche side hustle that both myself and my wife can do. My brother has a pretty successful CNC routing side business that he does pretty well with. I was looking for something similar but didn't want to step on his toes, so I bought a CNC Fiber Laser. It's a 20w Chinese special . To buy something similar made in the US would have run around 15k. I didn't want to invest that much and my venture be a failure. I pulled the trigger on it right after Christmas and it should be off the boat early next week. I'm excited to get it. It can engrave just about any material and comes with a rotary positioner to do round objects like YETI cups, etc. There's going to be a substantial learning curve on operating it but I have a CAD and robotics background so it shouldn't be too bad. I'm applying for my FFL in order to be able to engrave firearms also. There's some great fiber laser videos on YOUTUBE if you want to check them out. Will have better pics once I get it!
  5. I just ordered a rebuild kit from DAP for the HX35. It has a little too much shaft play for my liking. Has anyone ever rebuilt one of these? I also ordered a boost elbow and another hoodie lol. The PO of this turbo cut the wastegate line and hoseclamped a bolt in it to effectively disable the wastegate. I'm also going to bead blast the exterior of the housings as the PO had tried to paint them. Anyone ever have any luck painting them or is bare metal best? I'm going to do the machine work that DAP recommended while it is off. Looks like the HY is going back on for a week or so.
  6. My mistake. I thought all 24v autos came factory with an HY35. Looks like it's just the later ones like mine.
  7. I would find a cheap take off hx35 and see if it meets your needs before dropping the dough on a more expensive turbo. We have very similar setups and the hx35 does pretty good for me. How heavy are you towing?
  8. Thanks all!
  9. It was around $40 I think.
  10. I got this one on eBay years ago. It's polished stainless with the black logo.
  11. I do it every oil change which amounts to about every 7500 miles. I am only running the factory filter though.
  12. Myself and Dave Jr. He was born Tuesday evening, 7lbs 7oz a month early!
  13. Hey Dave have you picked a shop to do your head yet? I'm on the fence for getting my head rebuilt and o ringed while I have the time for it.
  14. The article says that he charges $125/hr for plowing in Idaho. In Seattle he was charging between $500-$750/hr for it.
  15. Anyone else see this? Thought it was neat.
  16. Under the hood at the firewall?
  17. Quadzilla is definitely my next purchase. My plan was to keep the mechanical gauges just for redundancy. And they look cool! What is the effiency range of the hx35? I can easily hit 40psi with it right now. Will probably be even easier with the quad. I see head studs in my future also.
  18. Gotcha. I'll put that on my list. By the way, I caught my pregnant wife on my security camera. She stole my hoodie!
  19. It's a little slower to spool than the HY but not by much. MUCH less smoke and I haven't been able to get my EGT's over 1100 standing on it. Haven't hooked up to a serious load yet with it though. I never knew that about the turbo. What difference will I see? I plan on pulling it off again soon to throw a rebuild kit in it and clean up the compressor housing that the previous owner painted.
  20. Did it make it out to frozen tater land?
  21. At the dirt track we used to pour black pepper in the radiator to stop leaks. Worked like a champ! I got another few months out of my half ton Rams radiator that way!
  22. $13/gallon here in SC
  23. Will do Mike. I want to try any clean up that wiring some anyway.
