Purchasing my first Travel Trailer need advice
I agree it was a thought but I knew the possible ramifications if I did so I did the right thing. When I get back from this trip I will take it in to get fixed.

Purchasing my first Travel Trailer need advice
OK guys now I need a little advice. My awning light on my trailer stopped working the remote I have use to turn it on the switch never did for some reason. So I plugged my trailer in and I was checking everything and noticed the light didnt work I turned the switch on it blew a fuse. I whipped out the volt meter and it shows a little over 13 volts going out when the switch is on and 16 amps. The fuse that the dealer put in it was a 15 amp. When we picked up the trailer they said they had to replace a fuse which is the same fuse that is blowing now. So my question is do I put a bigger fuse just to check it out? Is the LED strip bad now? The reason I am asking is I am leaving friday to go on a trip. I have been trying to leave work early to take it to the dealer so they can look at it with no luck. I was hoping this could be an easy fix that I could take care of. Thanks for any the help.

What's This Going On???
my brothers truck when the voltage gauge drops low below 14 it puffs white smoke and idles rough once it kicks back up over 14 its fine runs like there was nothing wrong. Then my truck started doing it also. But has not done ever since I installed my brake controller for the trailer.

Purchasing my first Travel Trailer need advice
Well its official I get to pick up my trailer on Monday I think my kids are more excited than me Lol! Are there any little things I need to get? I have wheel chalks, they are giving me hoses but I do not know what quality they are. Do I need some kind of level? Anything else?

He did say they give you hoses but to buy a better "black" one with a clear elbow to see when it is clean. He said he was going to talk to his boss about getting a power jack which is not that big of a deal to me but hey if he gets it no complaints here. He also said he will try and get a check made out to us for a TV we can install our selves. It does not freeze where I live so I should be good right? Well I guess when it gets below freezing in the winter. Is there an online list of things that are a must? I guess I could ask them since it would be more money they can make off me.

Ok yea some of the models I have been looking at have plastic so I was concerned. I did read however that the porcelain doesn't stain. So I was thinking about putting one in what ever one we bought but 230 plus an 1 hour of labor seemed a little pricy to me.

Ok. I actually asked this sales men at johnnie walker rv and he said not really worth it plus he said a 2012 is fairly new and no need for one. Yes I agree I like some models with a "u" dinet only but if it rains I do not know where my family of 5 would hang out. It would be tight. That denali is like 36ft so I am concerned because some of the campsites I want to go to max is 30 there are only to with a max of 45. Plus a rookie behind the wheel. Lol. I noticed that most of the trailers have plastic toilets isn't procelain toilets better? I know most of the jaycos have them is it hard to have one put in or put in?

You don't understand how helpful this is so thank you!!!! So I will check all that I may see if the wife and I can check it out tomorrow. Now if I pull the trigger will the rv place offer a warranty? Should I get it?Aslo Wild n Free said I shouldn't pay more than 75% of the sticker price so I can negotiate a brand new trailer if need be? Do any of you use a spare tank to fill your fresh water up?

Purchasing my first Travel Trailer need advice
I will be camping in southern Utah for sure at least once a year but I would like to go other places and if the need arises go where it gets cold. I have started looking at used like many of you have suggested and found this 2012 Dutchmen Denali 311BH http://www.johnniewalkerrv.com/rv/las+vegas+nv/dutchmen+traveltrailer/8160/dutchmen+denali+311bh It only hold 52gal fresh and its like 35ft long but they are going for around 24,000. The campsites I plan on going to do not have hookups but only a dump station.

Thanks guys for the input! I can not afford a 5th wheel plus I to like having the bed of my truck. I have no toys so I do not have a need for a toyhauler. I do like the coleman because its manufactured by Dutchman which I have read is a pretty good company. The fresh water tank is enclosed not sure of the rest. I have not made the trip to see it yet. The Springdale is full enclosed and has an outside cooking like stove and fridge area. My biggest thing about buying used is this is my first time so I would not even know where to begin to start. Plus I have this fear of not knowing how it was taken care of and used sofa/beds. Since I have never towed a travel trailer I am just trying to stay below 30 feet so I can get use to then maybe in a few years I can upgrade.

Purchasing my first Travel Trailer need advice
Alright guys I am looking to purchase my first ever travel trailer . So I have looked at Jayco's which I like but then I looked at a Keystone Springdale 240 and I really like this setup. easy to tow I didnt want anything to long since it is my first TT. http://www.johnniewalkerrv.com/rv/las+vegas+nv/keystone+traveltrailer/7650/keystone+springdale+240bh the price is 24,000 and now there is a sale pending. So I did a little more research and found a Coleman CTS244BHWE on sale for 17,995 http://www.lasvegasrv.com/new-travel-trailer-rvs/2016-coleman-coleman-cts244bhwe-1243015 I like both models but the coleman is more in my price range right now not to say I couldnt get the springdale its just I do not know how often I would take it out to get my monies worth per say. The other issue is the coleman trailers are offered at camping world which do not have very good reviews. The other Rv center does not know when they will get another Springdale in. So after all that does anyone have any thoughts on the coleman trailers? Any advice or guidance at buying any trailer will be much appreciated.

here is a link http://www.frantzfilters.com/product/base-gasket-10-pack/ 14.95 for a 10 pack of seals. their customer service is nothing like Deborah's either. I bought a new shinny oil cap from them and not anywhere on the web page does it say you need certain equipment to make it work so then I snapped my swivel bolt from my old cap completely off. In which I had to drill out and re-thread the cap and I called them to see what heck and no one could talk to me until Monday. I had to completely remove the frantz to drive my truck. when they did call me the guy said it tapers down and the use a quick disconnect on the return line. That would have been nice to know when I bought it. Also off the subject but the synthetic TP is rated for 10,000 miles even for a diesel.
