Hi, We can't predict everything, so I will ask the question ahead in preparation. If anyone has been on a long trip and suffered a breakdown, how did you get the truck back home to your shop? I'd like to hear what you did? Are there companies that rent Haulers/trucks capable of hauling a 3500? Or maybe a vehicle Transport Company? Thanks. Leaky

Hello and good morning, I recently bought a 33' toy hauler. and I quickly found out that my rig is not set up for towing that kind of weight. wondering if I can get some recommendations for solving this dilemma. truck is all but stock with a juice with attitude programmer. set up is as follows, 01 3500 dually HO 5.9, 6 sp man NV5600, front axle dana M60 f/ 248mmFBI, rear Dana 80 (hybrid) ( not quite sure what that means ) with 3.55 gear ratio, currently running LT 245/75R17 tire n rims. I work this truck 6 days week as a union pipeline welder, time is precious and I only want to have to do this once. does anyone have experience with the gear vender product? Anyways it time to burn rod, thank you in advance for any and all help.

I changed my fuel filter to Baldwin and started using 2 cyc oil on my return trip to SC from Santa Fe, TX via Oskaloosa, IA on 30 Jul.I averaged 11.5 MPH towing (9000 lbs) 2315 miles under various road conditions. Mostly rolling hills and some higher elevations in KY, TN, NC & SC. I didn't baby the truck, i.e., 63 to 65 and on a few legs up to 70MPH. One thing I did differently was in hilly areas whenmy speed dropped to around 60 MPH I kicked out of OD and dropped my speed to 52 MPH to maintain 2000 RPM. I think that helped my MPGs a bit. I am very happy with my trucks performance. I use the stubby pencil method to figure my gas mileage (up to the neck) and use a factor of 1.04 to compensate for my larger tire size.I have a 1000 mile R/T to Fla coming up in late Oct and it is mostly all flat roads. Am anxious to see if I can do better than my 11.5 MPGs on that trip. I have a S&B Cool Air Intake and am now leaning toward a BHAF.What is the bottom line on a heat shield for the BHAF? Yes/No??? today, i hooked up my gooseneck trailer and loaded some cattle, and i was hoping since i installed a new vp44, airdog165, ats arcflow, silverline stacks, my truck was going to have more horse power, but mywas dissapointed because my truck just cant pull a 24' gooseneck with 7 bulls (about 10k lbs.) When i take off the truck starts to shake and takes a long time to advance, i have a 2000 dually with the nv4500, with only 130k miles, i've had this truck for about a year and it is my first dodge truck. I like the fact that the engine is real simple and easy to fix, i also have a 00 duramax 2500hd with the banks six gun, and that truck pulls more than this truck. My truck is stock as far as engine programming, i thought that this truck was going to be stronger at stock than the chevy, but i think it really needs the help of a programmer or chip. Is this normal for this truck or could it be something else (what is the dead pedal?) i bought this truck from an old man and he took care of the truck and even gave me all the records and receipts on the maintenance he did to the truck. Can some one give me any advice on my problem, could it be that i need a new clutch? This truck looks like it just came out of the factory it even has the stickers and barcodes in the chassis, all original, no cracked dashboard, original like new carpet floor mats, no cracks on the windshield, its beautiful and i will like to keep it but it just doesn't do what i need her to do.
