3 wire connectors

Recommended Posts

Quick question for you electrical guys.

I HATE the spade connectors that come with some electrical accessories. After time they tend to fall out or get loose ...... just seems ..meh

What 2+3 wire connectors would you recommend to replace with - preferabbly quick connect but solder if required.

Looked on amazon ...... but a bust. Looking for good quality.

Thx guys

had just found the same on some motorbike site ......

assume you can use any gauge wire as long as it fits

For the DT connectors there are a couple different sized pins and sockets for wire size. I recommend the gold plated connectors, they will prevent future headaches, we see a lot of issues with the nickel plated pins and sockets with internal arcing and then loss of connection over time.

Don't forget the Deutsch crimper tool.

Here is a similar crimpers.

More options.

Just be sure it is an indent type crimper and not one that smashes the terminal as the DT style terminals need to hold their shape in order to be snapped into the connector and removed again, they are serviceable connectors and by smashing them like 99% of other cheap types ruins them.

The actual Deutsch crimper is an awesome tool, we have several at work and I have used the lesser off brands and there is a big reason for the price once you see and use them. Plus the Deutsch crimper works for a larger variety of Deutsch connectors, the lesser brands are pretty size specific and not as precise of a crimp.
