My New ECM arrives monday

Recommended Posts

I am awaiting a rented Smarty tuner to enable high idle on my truck. I am in Arkansas and as of lately USPS has been terribly slow/misroutes out of the Northeast. I have been ordering items from the west coast and getting items in a good timely manner, fingers crossed. I know UPS/FedEx don't struggle with that as much.

I agree, I ordered some stuff priority and paid extra to have it in 2-3 days as advertised, ordered it Tuesday arrived Sunday, which I was surprised they delivered on Sunday.

Same examples for me, coming from the northeast. Coming from the West coast, some days deliver a day early. Very strange.

Can u let us know where you bought it from, what you paid, and if it works just so I have a clue where to go in the future if I need one? and are we definitely talking about the ECM on the engine, not the PCM on the firewall?

Thanks

Yes, I will let everyone know "if it works"........... where I bought it, etc etc.... Yes, it is the ECM on the side of the engine....

I've heard so many horror stories about this.

I did alot of research.

I will tell you, its not from florida

Ive been having the, ignition on, delayed boot up, for 4 or five years, and it was getting longer delays.

I should ask.... What is supposed to happen when you have a good ECM when you turn the key to 'ON'.... Its been so long I dont even know any more

Key to 'ON'....  what dash lights should go on immediately and what else should happen immediately? Lift pump immediately?

Is there a sequence of events, dash lights that go on first, then others,  or in a sequence?

I dont know the exact order everything cycles, but you should see the WTS at key on and here the lift bump on for a second or so. The WTS is dependent upon ambient air temps for how long it stays on. I never had this issue when mine went. Mine just committed self to the insane asylum. Still cranked with no problem but you could not drive it. It started fine with bad they sent me too.

Maybe someone else knows the proper sequence, I am sure there is one.
