Because gravity is trying to accelerate you towards the Earth's core at 9.81 m/s^2.  That's really fast, and really good at holding things down.

I don't know.  I watched a video on youtube that told me that gravity doesn't exist and that the earth is flat...they seemed pretty edjucated.  :lol3:

Sorry, I couldn't resist and I meant to offense to anyone in the flat earth community.
