10,000 mile oil filter?

Recommended Posts

Walmart has a Fram oil filter that says it is for synthetic oil and you change it at 10,000 miles. Anybody ever use it? That seems like a long time between oil changes to me. I bought it but I plan to change at 7000 miles. What say you?

Fram filters don't have the best reputation with a Cummins engine. Do a search for "oil filters" on this site and you will get all the info you would want to know about which is the best! Good luck!

Good idea, i`ll do the search. Tx.

Donaldson ELF7349 is a MUCH better filter (actually best avail) priced right and can go up to 25K miles if your inclined to run oil that long.

I live on the Ms. coast and haven`t heard of Donaldson. What store sells it?

Call your local Frieghtliner or Cummins Dealer, have engine# ready, don't tell them it's for a Dodge,Baldwin and Fleetguard are also good filters approved by Cummins.:spend:

Tx The nearest store to me was 55 miles round trip so for this change I`ll stick with NAPA and Rotella 15/40 and check online for the next one. Tx again.

Look online as well, I hear of people getting them shipped for $12. I would try to run a Fleetguard Stratapore or Baldwin before a NAPA. If you do run NAPA be sure to get the XE version.

I`ll check the online suggestion, it works better for me. Tx.
