right front axle seal replacement

Recommended Posts

There is all kinds of room to just tap the seal in from inside the housing just like you would any other seal. Just did both sides of my 02 a couple months ago. Harder getting the old ones out than getting the new ones in.

Your truck must have a different axle than mine or else you're pretty talented with a hammer:lol: I had about a 2" by 3" hole to to work in so it's pretty hard to swing a tapper in that. So I cut a circle the size of the seal out of a some 1/4" plate, drilled a hole in the center and used a piece of threaded rod to pull it in.

I have been doing it for a living for 20 years so I am a bit unique in how I do things, plus it helps to have a good selection of hammers as well, there is always one that is just right for every job. If the hammer is heavy enough it only requires taps.:thumbup2:
