Looks like a leak. But, I think I would wash all of that off and then run it for a while and see. Plus by washing, if it is a leak you will have a better idea where it is coming from.

I would consider the crankcase vent mod to trap the oil in the crankcase... Mines not that ugly looking... But remember more boost pressure means more blowby the rings. So how much boost pressure do you see?

ohh a little back story is in order... i had drove that truck hours earlier and because of a lot of snow fall they have been putting sand and salt down...but the other half of the front was pretty. i "washed" it clean from some monster puddles...notice though where the only puddle is... i know there are dozens of things...but want to know a direction to start. thanksother than the air dog, it is completely stock. no gauges yet. i have an "edge boost elbow" but i was towing one time and learned really fast what happens when you can't fool boost! so i took it off(this was this last spring)

Well I would wash it down and try the modified crankcase vent... Its cheap and easy to build... It might just stop the problem if not then I would look towards doing a compression test.

michaelWhere do you get a compression test from for these trucks and whats it normally run ? $$And how/where do you run a vacuum test - which line ? I need to do the crankcase vent alteration SOON !!! lmao - thats where most my oil is comming from

Could it be the power steering box? Thats how mine looked.

yes! it is the steering box. i crawled under there 2 days ago and had the wife start and cut the wheels. its leaking from where the ?steering shaft?(from the steering wheel) enters the box. its more than just a drop. i almost had a mouth full:cry:

I replaced mine with one from oreillys they have one for 200 something and it's the 3 turn one.

You could try and top it off with a little brake fluid, it does a good job of swelling the seals, and it might just save you a steering box replacement? I have done this more then once for seal leaks, and most of the time it works.
