I would like to introduce myself to all of you. I met Michael last July in Meridian, Idaho at a medical facility. He had a follow up appointment for his urostomy/ileostomy, while I was getting wound care treatment for my ankle. We briefly met at this place once before but had not been able to chat. On this particular July day, we had a few minutes to chat. As I learned more about Michael's life, I realized that he is an amazingly unique person with a kind heart and good old fashioned values. Upon listening to how he sacrificed on behalf of his mother's need for dialysis in the midst of dealing with his bladder cancer, I began to highly respect and admire this …

My name is Mace. I'm a looong time lurker on here. Before here I was active on contributions for Dave Fritz’s site before it disappeared. I’ve been following 2nd gens since they debuted. I bought mine new in 01’ and still rock it! I recently deleted my fb association with 2nd Gen Cummins as it’s not technical enough for me. I thrive on modifications that make our trucks more competitive & mechanically modern. The W-T mods I discovered here and installed sealed the deal to jump ship. I’ve completed some neat modifications on my truck I’m happy to share. Here’s a couple: • Engine side APPS delete (complete electronic pedal - n…

Hi I'm Travis. recently bought my first 2nd gen just over 2 years ago, half ton V8. I really didn't know much about the gassers and didn't really need a diesel as i do not haul much at all, so after some research, i found this 1998 on marketplace for $2200 with 180,000 miles on the engine and 4 year old rebuilt transmission . Worst issue was fuel would leak out of the top of the fuel pump housing when you filled it up all the way, but that was due to someone not putting the lock ring on correctly, it basically cross threaded or only threaded on half way. So a new fuel pump and the ring installed correctly fixed that, then a new windshield was needed. Put a wate…

Just got back in the Cummins program. I’ve owned a couple , years ago , but as pickups go sometimes, they weren’t around long enough to get very familiar. Just got a 2001 4x4 bone stock Quad Cab. Pretty excited about fixing this thing up and having a good dependable ride under me for many yrs. I’ve worked with diesels most of my life ,so I’m not totally ignorant. Thanks

Hello, I'm Dennis. I'm the original owner of my 2001 2500 quad cab long bed 4x4. It's currently stock except for the air filter, fass, smarty. The auto was rebuilt a few years ago planning on futures mods. 3.55 and with 3rd gen brakes, wheels and 265/70/17 tires. About 150k on the clock. Last trip towing my travel trailer (about 10k lbs), the turbo started acting up. That means upgrade time. I've paid the piper and now have a log list of parts on the way. Mostly from DAP. My plan is to do these upgrades in 4-5 install stages. Stage 1, Exhaust manifold and HX35 62/64/12 turbo Stage 2, Quad Adrenaline and gauges (gonna use an old ipad for them) Stage 3, 100hp…

Hey everyone, new to the forum so figured I would do a quick intro. My name's Riley and my truck is an 01.5 2500HO, 4wd, 6 speed, Mexico block, slt Laramie. Pretty much my dream truck I have wanted since I was a young boy. I came across the site while searching some issues I am currently having with my truck. Have owned it for about 7 years now and it's never let me down until now :(. This place seems like a great resource so figured I would give it at shot!

Hi all. New to the forum and new to cummins diesels. Decided to join after stumbling on the site looking for solutions to the TC lockup cycling issue and was impressed with the quality of content and respect everyone seems to have for each other here. I picked up a 1999 4x4, auto trans, 138k miles to pull our RV (10k lbs). I work remote and will travel full time starting in the next couple of months. Primary interests are reliability, moderate power and decent towing. Looking for info on the WT mod atm and would appreciate any other recommendations! The truck currently has turbo back exhaust and replaced APPS sensor - otherwise stock. I have an airDog to inst…

Hello all, Vaughn MacKenzie here. Probably know or have met some of you guys over the years. Been on NW Bombers and Turbo Diesel Register for 20+ years. A few years ago something interesting happened. We were in S. Idaho chasing the UP 844 steam engine and stopped to grab a bite to eat at a restaurant. When we were there we spotted a Ram in the lot with a big Mopar1973 window sticker. Hmmm. Sure enough we found out it belonged to the man himself! It was great meeting Michael, we had a really nice visit. I have owned quite a few trucks, all 2nd and 3rd Gen. Let's see, in order: 1998 24V LB CC 4x4 5-speed (1999-2000) 2001 QCSB 4x2 6-speed (…

FNG here just saying hello. I'm from the Bourbon Capital & actually work at a distillery. My gem is an '01 2wd Sport 6spd and even though it's 20+yrs old & they get a bunch of crap because of the VP44, I still love them. Seems like quite a few knowledgeable ppl in here so excuse me for asking questions. Before & after of my 3rd 2nd gen

Hello. I've been free reading on the cite on and off for a few years and after finally deciding it was the one I seem to get the most quality information from, I subscribed. So, thanks for all of the good information you put on the web. You guys have helped me a lot on my journey. My Journey: Due to a lot of factors I decided I wanted to buy an older model vehicle that I could learn to understand and work on myself. (Call me crazy but I find the disconnect between driver and vehicle... troubling.) I wanted it to be a functional vehicle that fit some of my needs. My brother talked me into getting the 5.9l cummins and I ended up with a 98.5. It had b…

So it’s been a number of years since I have been on this fantastic resource of a group forum, however I just wanted to say thank you for all the past assistance and share my story. I’ll try my best to give you the cliff notes version... I found this forum during an exceedingly, difficult time in my life when the one thing I could do that would make the rest of the day melt away was work on my truck... however I had very little knowledge but wanted to learn... I would spend hours reading through old posts during many sleepless nights... I was even a little nervous about admitting I was a female, so I think I may have even initially signed up under …

Thought it would be time to introduce myself finally. Long time lurker, rare poster, finally decided to come out of the woodwork. Im from the corner of Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River, so if anyone is in the area or needs a hand let me know. Ive had my 2001 Cummins for quite a few years 2014-2015 if i remember correctly. ive slowly built it up from a slight basket case to a decent runner. previous owner didnt take very good care of maintenance. would like to also thank everyone for their help in the past and mopar1973man for making this site, its an extremely deep wealth of knowledge. Cheers! Silverwolf

Hello to all, I’ve been lurking a while but finally signed up so I can join in on discussions and ask some questions. Bought my ‘01 2500 new in the spring of 2000, and have only put 89K on it. Thankfully I didn’t have to drive it to work, so that’s why the miles are low. The engine is bone stock, but I’ve started procuring a few items to coax a few more ponies out of it. None have been installed yet. Gauges are probably going on this weekend. Would like to target the 425-475hp range, and I’m looking forward to soliciting your ideas for how to best go about hitting that goal. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Bob here from the Midwest USA. I recently traded my Bobsled (2011 Challenger RT 6 speed car) for a nice clean 2000 Ram 2500. The Challenger was fun in town, but now I live in the sticks and as fun as it was, I couldn't make it of the 1/4 mile lane to the mile of unkept county roads in the sled, not to mention being attacked by rocks the entire way to pavement, if I made it to pavement. This is my first Cummings powered truck, have owned over a dozen 70's Power Wagons and Ramchargers, and one 2005 F-250 6.0 liter SD. I must say that I am overly impressed by my new to me Dodge. I have been a Mopar guy since childhood, owning numerous Challengers, Barracuda's, both small blo…
