Been lurking here and using the various resources of the site since I bought my first CTD for Christmas/New Years. Finally decided to join the forum the other day. Not much to tell about me I don't guess. I'm 32 years old and live just north of Charlotte, NC. I'm a database administrator for a large financial company that works heavily with automotive lending. :D I bought my truck to haul my rock crawler and for general purpose use. My father was a diesel mechanic for the larger part of his life, but somehow I never managed to gain any diesel knowledge from him. Did pick up on a ton of gasser knowledge though. :D Enjoying my first diesel. I've had some problems wit…

Just found this part of the forum. I've had a small Volvo repair shop for the past 17yrs in the San Diego area and have been ASE certified master auto tech for over 30 yrs. I would rather be camping, fishing, and hunting in the mountains but stuck in So Cal.

Hello all, Just bought my first diesel (and truck for that matter). I've previously been driving a 2008 Ford Mustang GT. It's time for the Mustang to turn into more of a track/project car, so I needed a new truck to drive/tow with. A little background about me. I joined the Army a year after HS and did my 4 years and got out. I'm a currently a student at Texas Tech University studying Petroleum Engineering. I have one more year left... Woo! Description of the truck is in the signature. Right now it has a drop-in K&N that the previous owner installed. I have a BHAF ordered and on the way with a black cover. Transmission still shifts solid with moderate acceler…

Unfortunately, I haven't see any "your kind of truck" - that's specificity of the Polish car market, but I hope that there are no obstacles to be a member of your forum.I drive a little bit smaller cars than Yours, but they're diesels too, so....give me some hugs or shoot me...

Hello all.I just wanted to start a thread to say hi. I'm a loyal Diesel fan, and own a 99 Ram (see signature) and a 2001 VWJetta TDI with injectors, exhaust, chip etc. You just can't compare gas engines to the power and fuel economy that turbo diesel engines make especially when you slightly modify them. Not to mention the posability of making your own fuel (biodiesel) and supporting a soybean farmer right here in the USA. While i'm here introducing myself, is there anyone in the Great Falls, MT area with a Smarty that would want to let me borrow it long enough to download a tune and then remove the tune (leaving behind all of the factory computer upgrades like cold weat…

Hello everyone, my name is Hadley. I am 17 and looking to learn a little bit more. I am also a member on cumminsforum, and understand the basics of my truck. I usually read and try to learn anything i can, rather than posting. I have used this great site many, many times. I am currently working PT at a transmission shop in Provo, UT(trying to get the stock trans taken care of). I live and work on a farm, I enjoy hunting and golfing. Anyways enough about me...about the truck. I purchased my truck last year in June. It has been a learning experience for me. I also got a heck of a good deal on it, only $6,700. It has 176,000 miles, and was stock when i bought it. Currently i…

Just wanted to drop a line and say hi...In my search for manuals and resources for my cummins truck I found this site and it looks like there will be a lot of good info here:cool:Cliff notes of my project are...I picked up a rusty 1995 Dodge 2500 4x4 cummins diesel standard cab w/144k miles and a 1994 1500 2wd gas with a rust free body. Providing the frame on the '95 isn't too bad I will be doing a full body/interior swap and rebuild on the 1995 cummins.I also have a very long term project, a 1968 Kaiser/Jeep 1.25 ton military pickup that I am planning to re-power with a 5.9L cummins, 5-speed and NP205 transfer case

Hey guys, names Jake and I am on several if not more other forums. Didn't even catch that there was a forum on here when I was looking at the write ups.I drive a 98 12v with some goodies, it did a disappointing 45Xhp and 939tq but "should" (I use that loosely) do much better next go around. Hopefully she will be under her own power soon. Most expensive driveway ornament I have ever had....

Tripped/stumbled in here while searching for a factory service manual (FSM) for one of my customers that has twin 2005 Dodge 3500 4x4's (one is currently a no-start, and I was told these are the last two trucks he plans on owning so he would appreciate it if I would learn everything I need to know to keep them running )...so I suppose that means I'm one of those "bandwidth-leachers..." Regardless of the reason, I've been a self-employed mechanic for most of my adult life (more than 30 years...but who's counting). I specialized in electrical repairs, worked mobile (full shop in a 1-Ton truck with a delivery-box), and am pretty much retired now with only a few customers…
