Hey Gang, I've managed to get Thor running for the first time in 2 years. I opted for a stock fuel pump for right now since I'm missing parts yet for the AirDog 150 fuel system I've got I'm looking for a bracket for the pump. I have good positive pressure for the CP3 injection pump. I need to find out what the misfire and studdering are about. Cold start it's a bit long cranking not bad. Once it starts it runs rough and smokes white. I've got a set of @dieselautopower +50 HP injectors installed and had them sent back to DAP and found one injector had an issue and was repaired and sent back. Then I ordered a set of o-rings and replaced all o-rings on injectors…

Remove and Replace Fuel Injectors First step you need to have all your tools ready and clean place to layout parts in the assembly order. Make things a bit easier take a moment and disconnect the 2 plugs going to the valve cover. Grab a 10mm wrench or a short socket on a ratchet. There are 6 bolts holding the valve cover in place. You don't need to pull the bolts out of the cover just loosen and leave till you lift the valve cover off. Now you should see this below. You are going to grab a 8mm short socket and ratchet and remove all 12 wires from all 6 injectors. Don't worry about tagging there is no wrong way for those wires. Then just lift the gasket off…

I bought a 2004.5, crew cab, long bed, Laramie, 4x4 with 290,000 miles on it a handful of months ago. Engine is stock, I had to rebuild the transmission a month after buying it (that was a fun surprise) it had previously been shifting good, until it left the family stranded while towing our small toy hauler on vacation. While driving down a bumpy dirt road yesterday all the lights on the dash flashed & the engine turned off...I pulled over, put it in park reset the key & the truck started right up. About 7 miles further it did the same thing. I eventually got to work. On the way home, stayed on asphalt, it shut down again short…

Just for information value. I know I buggered up the threads on the crossover tube getting one out. You can smooth out rough or marred threads on crossover tubes. At least on my 2006 Cummins the thread size of the crossover tube is 14mm x 1.5mm.

Anyone have any idea on what could cause throttle stutter? My trucks an early 04. Around 1800-2100rpm the truck will jerk rapidly. My tuner says my pulsewidth is being erratic. Something is either causing the tps signal to drop in and out quickly, or there's interference. I've replaced the tps with a timbo unit, replaced both cam and crank sensors, and added the bd diesel ac noise isolator with no luck. When I set my meter to ac voltage and test the alternator, I get 0.006V, so I think that's fine. I haven't found any damaged wires and I have no idea on where to go next.

sub 10k miles on new Bosch OE injectors RaceMe Pro tuned (60hp setting, #3), deleted. 5" FloPro exhaust For a long time, now, I've been getting a fuel derate under heavy throttle loads (like climbing a 4-5% grade in 5th or 6th) at like 40% or more throttle percentage. As an example, logging with my XTOOL A30D scanner: 60% throttle 5th gear about 55mph loaded or empty, doesn't matter Fuel pressure requested set point: 21000psi Fuel pressure Sensor: 15000psi (more throttle decreases this pressure, I've seen it as low as like 8000psi) HPCR Fuel Pressure: follows fuel pressure sensor After about 5-8 secs of this gap in re…

Every website has an opinion one way or the other on the trans heat exchanger. So, what is the consensus here? Do I replace it or delete it and put a under bed cooler on it?

Hello, I just purchased an 05 3500 auto Quad cab long bed. It has 228,000 miles on it and has been meticulously maintained since day one. One question I have is, should I be concerned if there is a little white smoke at idle or low rpms? It starts right up when cold, and no engine blow-by. The truck runs very well. The maint records mention all 6 injectors were replaced at 170,000 miles. Unfortunately no further details on injectors such as brand , reman or new. You know how it is. I'd prefer to know the aforementioned info but it is what it is. I don't have that luxury. Besides starting up easy when cold, are there any other …

Anyone here try it yet? I saw some videos, looks like you need to fab up some simple motor mount adapters and change the exhaust manifold to drop the turbo down. Is the turbo move because of the air conditioning? What about the gauges and an auto transmission. Obviously easier with a manual.

I had another VGT turbo to replace on a 3rd Gen Truck. Still not an easy task for truck owners to do. First off I have been getting my replacement rebuilt turbos from @dieselautopower and they have turbos in stock that are already calibrated and ready to install. Now like any other turbo install we have to remove all surrounding tubing and air ducts hooked to the turbo. The air filter and air intake all get removed and the discharge tube goes to the intercooler. Next step you might want to drain the coolant down. Yup, there is a coolant line between the turbo and they are on both top and bottom. The bottom two connections are a pain in the rear to get at. I'm going to giv…

How To Display Engine Hours On The Odometer What Is Needed Ignition Keys Procedure This is an easy process to check the total hours on the engine. First off insert your ignition key and turn the key on but do not start. Quickly pressed and hold the trip button until the odometer display switches over to displaying hours. You'll know that the hours are being displayed. The odometer display shows the Hr prefix for the hour number displayed. Purpose If you happen to be using your truck in a manner that has extended idle times or possible PTO usage or using an 12-volt electric winch where the truck is idling for an extended period you can base y…

This is really simple to do. First off turn on your ignition but do not start. Now quickly press and hold the trip button down for at least 5 to 10 seconds. The hour meter should be displayed in the odometer with Hr and then the number of hours next. This way you can base your maintenance on hours if you tend to idle quite a bit.
