3rd Generation Dodge

Sunday/yesterday, I drove down to Effingham, IL to meet the owner of the _____/female dog I bred my Lab to. I left my house Sat. afternoon and drove to the P's to visit and spend the night. Their house is along the route I was taking. I left Sunday AM about 4:30AM to meet Doug at about 8:00AM in Effingham. I left the P's with just over 200 miles on the tank of fuel. It was just over 200 miles to Effingham one way, so it was about 400+ or so round trip back to the P's. And then after a quick 2 hour layover there, another 65 miles or so to the fuel station where I fueled up near my house.This tank got me 684.5 miles. As you know I currently have a 98.5 24 v quad cab 3500! Well June 15, a dang deer hit the right side of the bed! It caved in the bed and busted the fiberglass dually fender! The insurance company came out looked at said there was 6400 bucks worth of damage done to the truck, so they are in the process of totalling the truck out! Roughly speaking the blue book value of the truck is $7500 less $1000 deductible! So I'm trying to figure out whether to keep the truck, or just take the money and upgrade to a newer true 4 door quadcab dually! Hey guys,new to the forum,dodge,and Cummins. I recently purchased a 1999 drw, with 206k miles, for a work truck and I'm having what I call delayed start, meaning if I wait for the WTS light to come on it starts fine, extremely agrivating at a drive through. It doesn't matter if the engine is hot or cold and no codes. What I've done so far is replace the APPS because of a code, clean battery connections,change fuel filter and check fuel pressure. The truck has a mopar remanufactured IP and tank located lift pump, the fuel pressure is extremely suspect and has to be addersed, its 9 psi at idle 5 psi at WOT, but when i shut it off the pressure bleeds to 0 and stays that way …

Hello everybody! I am new to this forum or any for that matter, so bare with me. Anyways i have always driven diesels and always owned dodges now i need yalls help with my 2005 3500. The truck is all stock and recently had to replace my injectors. Installed stock injectors bought from cummins, now when im driving under normal conditions my egts vary from 800 to 1000 and never below 10 psi of boost. Please help me out. Thanks

The adjustable pedal assembly on the 06 Mega-Cab has a lot of slop, so much that the brake light switch stays activated alot. Anyone else seen this issue?

I pulled my 28' 5th wheel to the U.P. for a week of camping. Everything was seemingly fine until someone in front of me, about 5 miles before the campgrounds, stopped to turn left on the 2 lane highway. When I took off after they turned, my truck was shifting funny. It didnt want to go from 3rd gear to 4th. I had to feather the throttle to get it to shift.I pulled my buddy's boat around all weekend without any issues. Came home yesterday from a 3 hour drive hauling our 5th wheel and going down the highway, it pulls fine without any issues. what would cause an injector tick? If thats what im hearing

Ever since I bought my truck it has has shifter rattle from the Jake Brake switch. The original was replaced under warranty and when I went to get the 2nd replaced under warranty the regional rep couldn't read, nor do math, so it was denied... Anyways I finally bought a pac brake switch, which I should have done 4 years ago! I am a little disapointed as the both the box and the pac brake website show the switch being lighted, but it's not. When I called and asked they said they don't offer a lighted switch I asked why it shows one and they had no answer :banghead: Oh well, the drive to work today was so quiet!

Lot of diesel engines users in my country are 2-cycle oil worshipers:)Ok, "what is his point?" - you ask.... I've been using lot of fuel additives, cetane boosters, injector cleaners etc. Last time I used Liqui Moly Purge - very expensive cleaner - which is plugged to fuel line (not poured into tank). Honestly - I fell no difference, black smoke remains, engine noise the same, EGR blanked - no changes. Then I poured 500ml 2-cycle oil and.......miracle....less noise, less smoke etc.HOW …

I need to drain power steering fluid and from what I can see, right where it goes into power steering cooler there is a low pressure clamp on the hose, would this drain the entire system with eng running?

OK so about a year ago I experienced a vibration from the blower motor. Dropped the motor and inside the fan basket there was a bunch of insulation. This sort of concerned me since I couldn't figure out where it came from but problem solved. So last Saturday I took the truck out, turned the AC on and darn if that vibration wasn't back again. Didn't think much into it, figured something fell down in there, easy fix. Now mind you my truck is babied beyond belief and only gets driven on the weekends. When pulling heavy load (18k) I put it in tow/haul but it seems to still have all gears, I thought it would stay out of overdrive. Is it pulling in overdrive?

Can anyone shed some light on what you would expect the rpm increase would be at 65mph when swapping out 3.73's for some 4.10's. I've towed trailers over 10k on some decent hills with the 3.73's and it did well but I'm curious how much better 4.10's would do. Obviously there is some mechanical advantage in play but how much of a difference would I see.Thanks guys. Love this Forum

I changed the oil in my 05 and in one day it was just as black as it was before I changed it. Thinking of running for a few days and drain again. Before I add Amsoil.I run Amsoil in my 01 and it stays clean for about4-5k before turning black. Why would the oil in the 05 turn black so fast?

I am into my second week with my 05 with 38k miles and it seems it smokes a little heavy. When I get into it it smokes like my second gen with 50hp inj. and the Edge EZ hooked up. Are these trucks going to smoke like that? It only has 38k on the clock.
