Since the VNT plan went TU I am going another route. It’s a little more money, but hey that happens :-) I got a killer deal on a set of DDP 50's, one that I couldn't refuse. Nozzles were always part of the plan, but never in the immediate budget, but like I said I couldn't refuse these. I have wanted a different turbo for a while, as the VNT indicated. My main goal for a new turbo was to reduce the insane back-pressure created by the stock turbine housing and wheel. I don't need much more out of the compressor side, just more efficient. I am trying to decide between a Garrett Stage 2 or a modified Stage 3. The two turbos both have the same turbine and turbine…

I think I am going to move the SG to the DD and get an Edge Insight in the Dodge. It does so much more than the SG, and has several features I would like to have anyways (post-turbo pyro, turbo timer, and various pressure/temp sensors, backup camera). I'll probably start with just the post-turbo pyro and oil pressure. By using the CTS for oil pressure I can move my pre-turbo pyro from the A-pillar to the dash mount and have room for the CTS under the A-pillar. Down the road I would eventually like to monitor oil temp, diff temp, and trans temp. The OBDII gauges will be better than the SG since Edge actually has PID's for Dodge, so I will be able to monitor rail pressure…

I have been seeing this a lot lately and don't get what the deal is with them. You guys know how gassers give off steam on very cold days in the winter that only lasts like, 5ft out the exhaust pipe.. Well I keep seeing CR's doing this, only with black smoke. Same amount of smoke as the frigid gasser but black. I followed a CR cummins yesterday and we were doing 55 on level ground (I barely have to give it any fuel at all to hold that speed) and his was blowing a little black smoke the entire time. It only seems to be the CR's with this issue and isn't brand specific as I have seen it on all 3. Only thing I can think of is dirty air filter. What else could it be?

I read this thread on CF apparently an 04 (AF forward) with a CAI plugged with snow & restricted air flow. Is this an issue with BHAF? Is there an issue with water or snow through the fender or fender hood crack? Interested in members exteriences. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/3rd-gen-powertrain/355786-plugged-air-filter-snow.html

A friend of mine has a 06 auto and it keeps cracking the tail housing. It is a welding truck and carries a load at all times. Dealer says it is bottoming out and cracking, is this true and should he put Timbrens on?

Not sure where to put this. I found this over on CF. Pods mount on dash right above OEM cluster, in front of the operator. These pods seem to be well recieved. Fit 06 & up. A few have reportedly been cut for earlier Dodges but I've not seen any pictures in this whole thread http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/6-7l-non-powertrain/110095-custom-gauge-cluster-58.html He's getting 200 for them. I am not affilated with the sale in any way except to wish they fit my truck!

  8. I have an 05 with the "chip key", I also have a audiovox 670 2 way alarm/remote start. On a couple occasions the truck wouldn't start with the key but would by remote start. The truck would crank but the security light on the dash flashes. I assume it's a problem with my key....does that sound right? Only thing is the remote start is only supposed to bypass the security key during remote starts, once the key is inserted, turned to run and brake is depressed it cancels the remote start and returns the security to normal. The truck always stays running Anyways, I only have one key and the price Dodge wants for a new key is fuggin ridiculous. I found blank chip keys online f…

Hi everyone just looking for opinions on where to install the sending unit for my tranny temp gauge. I have heard a few different places and just wanted your two cents on where to put it to get the best reading.

  10. I read about a few guys that do this on another site. I was wondering if anyone here does it. It makes sense to me, but I'd like the majority opinion from y'all!!!In really cold weather, they start their trucks, and then put the transfer case in Neutral. They then put the tranny in Drive, or if a manual in "direct".......4th or 5th depending on your tranny type. They claim it helps warm the truck a bit faster if you don't have an EB. I can definitely see how it would help a manual tranny warm up a bit.So what do you's guys think about it??

I just started having issues with the delay on the wipers. Sometimes the wiper will cycle fine, then other times it will wipe three times consecutively. At other times nothing will happen until i turn the wiper control all the way to no delay. Where do I start looking?

Well the shuttle shift is getting bad on my 48RE and I am due for a fluid/filter change. Figured while I had the pan off doing the GM swap might be a good idea. Anyone have any experience with the swap or any other options available for the issue? Thanks

I seen it. Truck came into the shop yesterday evening for a rear end rebuild. It was an 03 04 05 model dodge dually, dont know for sure, but by god it had a 6.7 in it. Guy i work with asked the guy about it and he said it's true, if you put a 03 or 04 set of injectors in the 6.7 and use the ecm off an 03 or 04 it will work. Never had the opportunity to screw around with a 6.7- too new.... so I dont have a clue if that is correct. anybody know for sure? obviously he did something to get it to work haha.

I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge from another project that I want to use on the 05. I know the port on top of the oil filter housing will work but I'm using a needle valve. It wont fit because there's a hose right next to it. Is there any other port I can use? Thanks,Eugene

Well I went to the local tire store to get my alignment adjusted and while the truck was on the lift the tech noticed that my right front tire had play in it, indicating a soon to be failure of my hub bearing assembly. What are some respected/quality hub replacement brands? Is this a job I could do in my driveway? Thanks!

  16. Started by cjohnson.72,

Well I have been saving up for gauges and I am almost there. However, I wanted to see what others are running. I am leaning towards Auto Meter "Factory Match" with the dashboard mount so that I don't lose the grab handle. The three I am looking at are rail pressure, tranny temp, and egt'sFeel free to put in your 2 cents! Thanks

Our service truck is a 2007 CR automatic and there are several issues I am wondering if anyone else has ran into. It has 150k. Completely stock.First is the windshield wipers. When on the slowest setting, they will wipe one, then again with time in between like normal, then it will wipe twice without stopping, then it will act normal for 3 wipes or so, then it will wipe 3 times in a row or 2 in a row. Not sure what the issue is with that. The ignition now thinks the key is still in it when you take the key out as all the dings are still going along with whatever light stays on, on the instrument panel when the key is in the ignition. It takes a long time to start, lik…

HELP!!! I've tranplanted a 2006 HPCR into a 2000 Ford Excursion 4x4 with an Allison 1000 5-speed and I CANNOT get it to fire. Anyone got any ideas? I had Bob Wagner (Smarty) program the ECU to shut off the SKIM requirement and make it into a "stickshift" so I can run the Allison TCM as a stand alone. I have 90hp injector tips, a modified cam and have bypassed all the wiring I can think of just to eliminate potential problems so I can get it running, but it simply will NOT fire without a shot of NO-NO fluid, but will not keep running. Once the ether is gone, no fire, period. Also, it appears that the oil pump is losing it's prime if it sits overnight and won't pump …

I have always been told not to replace just one injector, but on this 05 code is saying the #4 injector bad and as much as these things cost will it be ok to change out just one or go ahead and change all 6. Also should the injector wires be changed while in it???

  20. Started by Robvg,

I have a friend with a 3500 that won't start. His friend did a diagnostic and there were no codes but he got a message that said, "1 no trip". I'm wondering what it means and if it's the reason for the no start? Thanks,Rob
