1. A couple of weeks ago, I was tool'n around town and realized my Quad XZT was on high performance setting. I switched back to the low setting which I run all of the time. However, shortly after switching down, the engine light came on. The code was P0237. Since then, I have hardly driven the truck. Today, I disconnected the Quad XZT and drove the truck to run some errands. After a few starts, the engine light went off, and when I checked codes, only the P1698(I think?) was displayed. Here's my take on this. The truck was never over 40mph when the XZT was switched to the hi setting. It was dumping fuel with very little boost, and the MAP sensor thought the boost wa…

Does anyone have experience painting the valve cover while it is still on the truck? I took my truck to the car was today and degreased the engine compartment. It looks great except that the pressure blew all the paint of of the valve cover! I believe it is aluminum so there really shouldn't be any concern with rust correct? I would like to paint it red like I have seen a few. Any ideas?

I can really hear my fan when it's really hot, but I'm wondering if my fan clutch is running too much all the time. I am over cooling and temps swing between 190 and 175. Cycles more less. How do you diagnose if the clutch is working properly?

  7. I did some more measuring and testing for the MPG crowd. Before I start I will say that I just verified my SGII and its right close to being on the money (off by 0.2 gallons). I'll assume that a slight error between the ScanGauge and the fuel pump. Now I my truck conditions are Edge set for 5x3, IAT fooled to 143*F, Engine coolant varied from 188*F to 197*F, winter fronts still on. Actual weather was high of 65*F (actual IAT was ~90-105*F) Now since I was on I-84 down in southern Idaho today I figure I open the beast up and let it fly low for once. So I set the cruise for 75 MPH and reset the current MPG counter and measure for about 20 miles of highway. I was p…

Fuel pressure is up around 20 at idle, drops to 15-16 when I get on it. No codes though. I did have a 0216 code from when my lift pump went out over a year ago but it cleared and has never came back. No codes at all? It stopped doing it for awhile but started doing it again. After I shut it off and start it again (sometimes more than once) its fine. Any suggestions on where to start without codes. Ive searched the forum , alot of dead pedal issues but they have codes.

There aren't many guys doing it. Only one guy on the net I can find so far and he had troubles. Ended up just goin back to the PCM voltage regulator. :think:I want to do it because of RFI noises and possible damage to the computer. This is according to a couple electrical engineers recommendations I was reading about .

  15. Alright guys, I am new to this forum and did a lot of reading on the TC lock/unlock thread and was hoping my alternater could be causing my TC to have problems. I took some voltage readings and based on what I was reading in the other thead I throught I might have a problem:

Battery Volts AC 0.039 - 0.041FAIL

Based on these I thought my alternater was going bad, but I took the truck to a shop today and he tested it on the truck and said voltage was good and the diodes were good. So on my way home I stopped at the local shop and talked with the owner about my problem and we went for a test d…

Well I gone and added the 4th switch to my setup. It didn't take long at all to daisy chain in the 3rd switch to the IAT and make it functional. No longer have to play with rheostat's or stuffing the IAT plug with wires. I'll get my video up here really quick.

My truck came with an S&B intake installed and a straight pipe. I threw a muffler on the straight pipe in a quest to make highway travel more civilized. Now I can hear the low drone of the intake. I don't mind it around town, but on highway trips it becomes noticeable. So the question is how much louder is the intake vs the stock air box? Would it be worth it to throw the stocker back on? Will it cost anything performance wise?

Hello all, I recently replaced my stock turbo because i noticed it was leaking some oil by and it had some end play. It just so happens I came into a sweet deal on a slightly used BD super B. This turbo is for a 2003 cummins but the only difference I could find for install was changing the exhaust downpipe. So the problem is now I'm down about 2-3 mpg. There is a noticable power gain and broader torque curve but peak power seems to be at about the same RPM as it was before. I am not having much luck finding specs. for this turbo but everything I've read says its not much bigger than stock other than the exhaust housing is quite a bit larger. Any input would be appreciate…

Engine light came on. When I chkd code by turning key 3x, I got P0237. How do I clear the code so that after I disconnect the Quad module, I can see if that was the problem? If not the Quad, I assume its the MAP sensor. Anything else I should consider? By the way, where's the MAP sensor located?thx,Eric
