  1. I am thinking of running a 100 micron or something along those line in front of my raptor pump. I am running the standard screen that they send with the pump but I think that if I run a finer filter before the raptor that if will help keep it running quieter. Do you thing that its worth wild?

I was directed to an article posted by Mopar1973Man that was on a different forum. it concerns a P1690 engine code. it says that AC noise from my lift pump can also cause this. where does alternating current come frome on a direct current vehicle. The alternator? And why does it manifest itself in the fuel tranfer pump?

Now I got code 216:cry: after code 230 cleared by itself. Truck runs smooth as glass with no symptoms:think:. Has new Raptor 100 with the harness. Running 17.5 fuel pressure. Volt meter shows 13.1 volts at the lift pump when you bump the starter. Batteries at 13.6. fuel relay in the PDC tests good. Both filters changed 3,000 miles back with A clean and clear bowl on the Racor filter bowl.Okay, should I switch out the primary filter (suction side) from a 45 g.p.h. to a 90 g.p.h.? Might have too much restriction. I know I can pull f/p from 17.5 down to 14 with half inch fuel lines all the way.Should I not go to Yosemite with the 216 error code? It's a 1300 mile round trip.…

  4. I have my transmission out and will be turning it in as a core on a reubuilt transmission. I want to make sure the lines are clean when the new transmission goes in. What is the best way to do this? AutoZone has this, Has anyone used it before? Before the transmission came out, I flushed more than 20 quarts of fluid through the transmission. What a fiasco that was.... Anyway, when I drained the fluid to remove the transmission, the fluid was a nice clean, high dollar red. I only managed to put 30-40 miles on the fluid. Do you think the lines are ok? Could I install the transmission, fill it with fluid and leave the return line off and use the transmission to pump the …

  5. Hello. I was wondering if anybody can answer me this one just to satisfy my curiosity. Theres a guy over on CF who's Raptor 100 quit due to dirt in the gears. He got a P0230 which makes sense and also a p1689 code. How can lift pump trouble cause a 1689? The last time I got one the VP was done. What really baffles me is he said once the lift pump was fixed it cleared all the codes. What am I missing?

  6. So I have a 2001 dodge cummins with the 6 speed manual, it has 50 horse injectors (50k on them) new vp44 (20k on that) the batteries are fairly new. It also has a pacbrake, air dog 150 which was installed before the new VP44 and a holset turbo that pushes a little more boost than stock and it also has a 4 in straight pipe. The issue with this truck is I have a miss and I called the kid tonight and he bought the APPS sensor from dieselsource.com and HE DID NOT CALIBRATE it. He told me he was getting his dead pedal in the same area I said it was missing at. I have cleaned the IAT sensor, probed the ECT and it all checked out good the only codes are a P0500 ( speed sensor si…

Alright, so in the midst of moving, I decided to try and kill 2 birds with one stone. Loaded up the dodge full with firewood. I had a cord of wood in the truck, but about 3/4 of it was just cedar. The other portion was maple. Really, I did'nt think it would cause a problem. I hauled alot more wood then that. I have stuck green paper birch in the truck in 8 foot lengths all the way to the top of my wood rack. Thats a crapload more weight in the truck then what I was just hauling. So, being that we were moving, I was driving the u-haul. I left the wife in charge of driving the dodge. She was not too confident in driving with this much weight in the truck. I told her she woul…

  8. So I got my HX35 swapped on tonight and what a difference!!! I thank all you guys that told me to swap off the old HY before buying injectors. I got my new glowshift pillar gauges on last night so I thought I would see how much boost I was getting with the HY35. The max I could get was around 17psi. Tonight I swapped on the HX35 and installed the pyro probe. The turbo already has a boost elbow in it. On my test drive I was seeing 25 psi and that was on a flat section of road full throttle. My pyro was climbing to around 950 when pinned to the floor. Does that sound about right? I'm running a Superchips D box will it fool the ECM and allow the 25 psi+ boost or wil…

  9. I have a 2000, with a pacbrake that I added a while back. Trans was just redone, and the VB should allow lockup in second. I want to add a lockup switch for towing and better exhaust braking. Anyone know how to wire this up? The wire you wood normally tap for lockup switch is one that the pacbrake has you cut and splice into their control box. I really want to make this happen, but am unable to get any good wiring instructions.

I am about to purchase the Raptor 100. I was under the truck today just trying to see what i am getting into. It seems I have a pump mounted to the frame next to the gas tank, which i knew because I can here it come on (and its not the first time under the truck)....when i follow the fuel line up towards the filter it looks like there is another pump mounted on the block next to the filter. I followed the fuel line to this (pump?) and then out of it into the top of the fuel filter. I have only had this truck a couple months and I dont know the history. I am thinking that the original pump was block mounted? And that when someone replaced the pump they just left the old pu…

I have been running without a boost elbow for some time and I installed the adjustable elbow today and there is no increase in boost pressure, 27-28 lbs and I am still getting over boost code. Also, if I get into it hard, as soon as I let off there is a poping noise, like a backfire in the area of the turbo. The poping noise just started last week and has only done it about 5 times and is intermittant. When I installed the boost elbow, I turned the screw down all the way, then back it out about 1-2 turns, still get the code and same boost numbers. Then cranked the screw down all the way, same results.Any ideas?

  15. Ok y'all.I'll try to get to the point, I'm on a 5,000 mile RV trip (to my wedding, in N. Idaho from Texas), now I'm on my honeymoon, on my way back to Texas broke down in Gillette Wyo. Here is what happened. I was driving I-90 E. Relativity flat rolling hills. I have been watching all my gauges like a hawk. My fuel gauge vibrates and always has when I drive but not at idle. So I am driving at about 60 - 65 mph, 15 psi fuel pressure (normal) I see my gauge go... 15- 5 - 15 - 5 -15 - 0 - 0 - 0... I pull over in the matter of less than a minute. Pull over, shut her down. BUMP the starter, NO Raptor noise for 20 - 30 seconds like normal. Did this several times. Not ev…

When you are pulling a heavy load on a straight road, what are you normally running for exhaust temps. :shrug:When pulling my 5th, I am seeing 1000-1100 anytime the truck is working uphill and about 800-900 when on a steady grade. Is this normal??

I am in the need to have a transmission built for my truck (in sig). I would LOVE a fully built unit, but at this point in life funds just arnt there for a fully built monster. I have been looking around and a friend told me about Cottman Transmissions. The company he works for has had them put together some trannys for there work trucks before and they have had good luck. I am wondering if anyone on here has used them, or knows anything about them. I asked IF I could supply the TQ converter and VB but they said they wont install customer parts. They use Trans star and Whit (?) products. Has anyone heard of them? I would like to atleast get a decent single disc conveter, …

  19. Kinda of a long story.Changed my fuel filters yesterday. I noticed when I was trying to "prime" the canister that my fuel pump wasn't running.... At all. Finally got the truck started.Prior to changing the filters yesterday, it took about 7 seconds to start the truck. You just HAD to wait that long or it WOULD NOT start. The pump would run for a second, then it would start right up. NOW it'll start immeadiatly. Even after sitting all night in the cool air it starts in about 2 seconds.Last night I installed 1 new rear view mirror (from mickey mouse to towing). Installed fine, tried to see if the power part worked. It worked for about 4 seconds then quit. Along with my radi…

  20. I need some help with my 2001 Cummins. I have recently had some dead pedal issues with my truck and took my truck in to a diesel specialist and had him test my injector pump. My injector pump is fine according to him but he found that my waste gate was stuck on my stock turbo. While trying to free the gate, he noticed my turbo was cracked so I purchased a new after market turbo.Last year I replaced the stock exhaust to a 4" exhaust, added a new lift pump (Raptor) and all of my guages. So, while pulling my 5th wheel last weekend, I noticed some funny shifting patterns and sort of dead pedal syndrome. My friend told me his father in law had issues with his Superchip, I a…
