on occasion, I have had a CEL, and the P 1693 code. I had the ECU codes checked, and it was the crank position sensor. The CEL randomly has appeared, and nothing has happened except in 2-5 starts, the CEL goes out. This happened again two days ago. Today, CEL came on again, and on the way home from work, the engine stuttered. just a miss of maybe 2 or 3 power cycles, but ran smooth with good power otherwise. I am unaware of how to get both P done, I've tried and only get one, with the P1693 code. How is this done?Am I finally having to pay attention to the crank position sensor? Any pointers? Thanks for the input.

What Do I need to do get a 3x TC or should I have it rebuilt and have a tc also.. Im looking for idea's on how I can beef up my tranny with out spending a ton.. Ive looked at ats tranny's and wish I could just get one of them but they want 4k for a stage 1 tranny.. Not sure my wallet can handle that with a 1600 core charge on top of it all.. So what do you recommend..I dont race so boosted launches is not happening, and I never tow over 15k lbs. I dont pull at truck pulls so that…

So JohnFak is on the road going from here to Arizona and he said yesterday it was flawless, not even the bucking issue he has talked about. Well today I think he said the bucking is back a bit but his edge juice display module is showing speeds of 60/90/100/120 just bouncing all over the place. Speedometer is reading steady 60mph though. The RPM and throttle % on the EDGE also are steady, so nothing is messing up but the speed it is detecting. He is wondering if he should reset the APPS or something. I am not sure but I think each thing the EDGE monitors has it's own sensor? I remember there was a ton of wires all braided individually. Thought the speedo…

Ok Gang... I've seen a bunch of you wondering about needle valves... Well here I'm going to explain the reason and why needle valves should be used on all fuel pressure gauges including electric gauges. Now first thing first is why do we need a needle valve? Well the needle valve is a adjustable damper for the fuel flow. It prevents harsh or water hammer pulses from reaching the gauge or sender. What is water hammer? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_hammer Here is what the pulse looks like... But now figure that is pulse open and close at half the RPM's but for 6 cylinder. This pulsation with eventually wear out or eat the gears…

Well i bought my 2001 dodge 2500 quad cab 4x4 about 1.5 months ago and have already replaced lift pump, vp44, and radiator clean from puck bottle. Last night i was in my way home and front wheel bearing went out, dang near lost a wheel, that was another $300.00 for a part. so i checked thr other side it was good and i will change it in a couple months due to money, any way took the other side aprt to check and grease the brakes pins and guess what no pin bushings on one side and dry as a bone with almost new pads. I don't understand how people think there mechanics and not do the job correct. Now the question the abs light came on when the bearing came apart and now the l…

First question isIs there and ground wire going to the sending unit in the tank for the fuel guage or any reason my gauge would read steady, but incorrectly? Before I had my box off and had my truck painted it seemed like if I was abuot 1/2 tank i could fill it for about $90 +- and now it seems like it takes more as if the guage isn't reading right. Today i put $92 in it at a little less then 3/4 of a tank showing on the gauge. The gauge never jumps around is if anything is wrong :shrug:Second question isAfter I put new intercooler boots on I fianlly noticed being able to hear my turbo spool up. Last week it seemed to get a little louder sounding then usual, had it for …

HeyDriving today on highway - and around 60mph the truck starts to 'buck' gently like its missing fuel ?? Pressure gauge says 14 @ WOT and 16-17 regular.Me and ISX just put the old injectors out and put the oem ones back in (for the stall issue). It doesn't idle rough or appear to be missing (assumming missing in a diesel would sound like a rough idle/egnine etc). Not sure - Might stick some 2 stroke in it tomorrow - could one of the injectors be plugged/partial blocked ??

I was cruising down the highway today and the truck acted like it slipped into nuetral. After that there was no go. None of the gears works, forward or reverse. At the time of the incident my temp was normal and there were no wierd noises. There was no noise when it went eiher. The truck just reved like it fell out of gear. My only guess is that I broke the input shaft. I assume that the only real answer will come by taking it apart.

been out hunting this week. i noticed at least twice, when the air temp was in the mid 50s and my truck had been sitting for at least 10hrs(and unplugged), my grid heaters didn't kick on(wait to start, idle, or, low speed driving). someone suggested that there might be a fuse link in the wire from the battery to the relays, but both had voltage thru the wire when i checked it with a DVOM. what should i check next? or am i jumping the gun, and its not cold enough for the ecm to start the grids? ISX does the 12v PCM run the grids? didn't you wire a switch for those?

After I rebuilt my engine I lost the puke bottle and just left it off. I have what appears to be several little oil leaks under the engine and front axle and differential is wet also. Can the hose coming out of the crankcase be dripping enough that it blows everywhere and causes several leaks or could I have several leaks? Everything looks dry along the valve cover, head, and block.

I let my fuel tank get below 1/4 and the "near empty" idiot light came on. Normally when I turn the key to ON, the fuel pump runs for a few seconds and gets the fuel pressure up to about 10psi. The next time I started it, the fuel pump didn't do ite pre-start run. The engine started normally and had normal fuel pressure. I filled the tank, the idiot light went OFF but the fuel pump still didn't do its pre-start run. A few starts later, and everything was back to normal. Is this a feature or a failure?
