  1. Found this kind of filter on ebay for 6 bucks apiece, just wondering if it might fit our motors??? Says it will fit the ISB, thats what these are just dont know if they are exactly the same..

  2. Started by dripley,

a while back my truck went bezerck. surging, little or no throtle response, cruise control coutting on and off, temp gauge swinging wildly from 0 to max and the engine was surging while indeling and me standing beside the truck. i was already having some dead pedal issues and had puechased a new vp44 from blue chip diesel. thinking that might be causing the problem i installed the injector pump with no change. I had multiple high and low voltage codes on the iat, tps, temp and map sensors. also had codes on the cruise control, tach, system voltage. did some test on the tps and replaced no change, replaced the temp sensor no change, clock spring nochange, speedo(on board d…

  3. I own a 2002 ram 2500 6 speed with the HO cummins, 145k, recently i was pulling my equipment trailer and upon taking off from a stop sign had what felt to be a dead pedal/poor throttle response, taking 2x-3x as long to get up to around 2000rpm than it normally would. Slight bucking would occur but more of the issue is the slow throttle response. No matter where the pedal position is, there is no change in throttle response, its just a matter of slowly building rpms. Even though the throttle response is slow, the truck will get up to 3500rpm. I did have a garage do a diagnostic on it and they claimed fuel pressure from the lift pump was sufficient. There is no excess ex…

  4. Kinda curious what these little numbers signify. I guess as long as it doesn't have a 53 I am ok, but I am just wondering what everybody else's engine blocks have cast into them number wise, might be kinda interesting to see. driver's side pass side

Been throwing the low voltage (1488) code, the batteries are new and the cables are clean and tight.Anyone have an idea where i need to look/go next to find the problem???The truck seems to run ok, Just like to find the problem so I can fix-it.Thanks Ed.

  6. Ok... I have been having a major issue with not being able to build more than 10 psi boost. I have been trying to fix it to no avail. So, today was about 85*+ here. Drop down the high way and looked over... 1,200* EGT's!!! I was shocked! All week I had been running 600 - 900* even with these low boost numbers (10 psi max). Boost issues STILL There and now the heat issue too! I turned off my Edge, didn't make a dent. When I sped up a little it would hold or drop 50*. It wouldn't get over 1,200*, unless i was going up hill to the floor (and I pretty much have to do that in 5th to get up a hill with no boost ) PLEASE!!! Any suggestions would be great. …

  7. Well gang... I figured I'd share a experience with you all... I've got a home made high idle kit on my Cummins that electronically fools the ECM to thinking it cold and tripping the high idle software... But what was occurring is that as I drove down the highway I would listen to a random cyclic timing changing heavy advancement (heavy ping) to retarding (quiet). But I had no CEL (check engine light), codes displayed on the ScanGauge II, or unusual IAT temps. Till finally I tripped a code P0113 which I knew was a IAT sensor code and the display showed the -40*F for temp. But I reset the code and watch the display as a I traveled started seeing slightly off numbers you rea…

ok been a day or two since i showed my ignorance about diesels .so here goes.....i have seen a few posts on the five and six speed manual trannys and several have mentioned pto covers on them ( mostly related to hawkeyes post of his six speed break down ...) my question is is the same type of pto that fire trucks with pump and drive characteristics or farm tractors use ?......and if so then that should mean a much more reliable pto driven winch could b connected to these transmissions right?

Long story short. For a few weeks now my tranny seems to have a problem making up its mindwhat gear it wants to be in. This only happens at speeds around 50 mph and it shifts repeatidly from od back to 4th then back to od again. I do have 35 inch bfg's on it but do not ever recall it doing this.Any suggestions?? Luke

  13. I have had an issue with my 02 for about three years now. When it is cold out it runs like a champ. as the temps pass 60-70 degrees and the engine is hot it develops an inconsistant miss. It only does it in warm weather with a hot engine. It developed after I installed the 155 hp BD injectors and an II HRVP44 pump. They were installed about a week apart in the spring while it was still cool out so I never could isolate which caused it.I Have read that a bad vp44 computer will cause the miss when it gets hot.The next thing is if It is in gear or has any sort of load on it like head lights on or ac on ect it will run smooth but put it in park with every load sucking option …

On my 01 Dodge I had an original lift pump , which I replaced with a Fass pump, this means there is no in-tank fuel pump, correct? The reason Im asking is some people are sayingIi have one, but it cant be with having a lift pump. Thanks guys!!

Well gang... I'm back at it again... Had to build another tool for the Cummins. I built a simple cap for the mouth of the turbo out of a small piece of 4" ABS sewer line, 4" ABS cap, air hose fitting (male), and the rubber sewer boot... Here is a short vid I shot of it... I got a new hose on it... And relize there was still a small air leak remember the bleed hole in the boost elbow... :banghead:

I have an idea to build a little set up for locking and unlocking the converter on my truck and would like to know if anyone knows if switching (opening)the signal wire that locks the converter so it cant lock will throw codes and put the truck in limp mode.. Tired of the converter locking at low speed and not unlocking until i apply half throttle or more. Its a pain after the injector / turbo upgrade (lots of smoke). I installed the tunnel ram at the same time as the turbo it is supposed to help out with smoke... if it does Id hate to see the cloud it would leave if it wasnt there lol.Could be that the tv cable needs to be adjusted but not familiar with the process.

  20. Will get started on removing the drivelines today. Mopar I was looking at the manufacturers links on your web site and found Standard Transmission and Gear listed. Have you or anybody else here ever done business with them? Found a place out of Memphis called High Gear Transmission also. High Gear had this info THIS IS A STANDARD SHIFT TRANSMISSION, NV5600 6 SPEED, FOR THE DODGE 3500 SERIES DIESEL TRUCKS.WE HAVE THESE IN 2X4 AND 4X4. THESE UNITS ARE REBUILT, UPDATED AND DYNO TESTED. (MY DYNO TESTER COST $80,000. BEFORE YOU BUY A TRANSMISSION FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE, ASK IF THEY HAVE MADE THAT KIND OF INVESTMENT IN THEIR PRODUCTS.) ALL THIS MEANS THEY WILL WORK WELL FOR YO…
