I am considering using Luke's link to rebuild my track bar and tie rod ends. My criteria as always is, the best possible improvement for the money. Is anyone A where of a better solution when compared to the cost. In other words, buying all new components such as a track bar for $300 may be a better solution, but certainly not as frugal. Besides the Luke's link appears to be a permanent solution whereas a new factory or aftermarket track bar may be a temporary solution.

I am hearing some problems from use of the spare tire winch so I was wondering if someone has done any mods to this. I am concerned about seeing my spare tire passing me on the highway sometime. Was thinking if anyone's found a solution... it seems kinda flimsy and that ratchet effect doesn't seem like it will hold the tire forever. So my first thought is a small boat winch mounted near an easy access point (wheel well or something) and then have the cable going over to where the original winch was with a pulley. I don't know.... just planning on having this truck for a long time and a boat winch is loads more positive holding locking power. A beer for your t…

not only is there cheapo and high end ball joints available, but there is a choice of 'adjustable' caster/camber +/- 2-4 degrees. How in the heck would I know what I'd need, UNTIL new joints are installed??? There is no way I could get anywhere close to 'true' reading as shot as my current joints are! Is there a common problem on these dana's that an automatic 2 or 4 degree adjustment will correct? Or are these offset joints for the lifted guys... I am assuming they are only adjustable as to the way they are pressed home... after that, you have to drive em out and clock em to t…

I am about to do the EGT Probe install on the truck. My question is I need to know what is a good gasket for the turbo and down pipe? I am going to remove the turbo to do the drilling and tapping on the manifold. I want a good gasket and is there anything I need to look out for or tips while I do this install. I got the probe from vulcanperformance and it came with a green box ( I am assuming a amplifier?). Thanks in advance

I was wondering if anyone has had the {death wobble} i have recently had a very bad vibration when you hit a pot hole at 45+ mph, the vibration is bad enough you can not focus on anything in front of you, it goes away when you slow down and clean your shorts!

Guys, hello and thanks for having me aboard! I just sold my 2008 5.4 SuperDuty for a very clean 2002 Sport Quad cab 8' 4x4 Cummins with an automatic. Picked it up in Virginia on Saturday and drove her home 300 miles and averaged 20.7 mpg. I have over 400 miles on the trip clock and have still have 3/8 tank- i cant believe this fuel economy, Unreal! Anyway, after the drive home I got under the truck to give it a once over with my creeper and trouble light and saw no major issues. Today, after it being very cold here in SW PA, I noticed fluid on the inside rear tire. Under closer inspection, It appears to be brake fluid, and after more inspection, seems to be push…

Ok, yesterday I had a couple of issues, didn't want to keep running during cold start. After getting the engine warmed up and batteries totally charged, and warming up the suction screen ahead of the FASS drp, it fired right up and ran fine... I then proceeded to drive it back to my house from our shop. 1 mile. Got home and noticed a weird buzzing noise coming from under the hood, and immediately shut it down and popped the hood... the electric motor on the abs system was racing away. Even with the key off. It was starting to get warm, so I just unhooked the plug going into the motor. …

My lift pump (Raptor 100) is not coming on...the idiot light came on just a mile away from my home so pulled in the driveway to check it out. Not hearing the pump cycle when I bump start. Did not see voltage on yellow wire or illuminate a test probe light during 25 sec bump. Truck starts and idles (from little lift pump in vp44?). I'd like to test continuity from the ECM plug to the lift pump but don't know what pin hole is the right one? Or any other suggestions? Really appreciate some help! Thanks,

Ok so I am able to get a set of Glow shift gauges EGT, Fuel Pressure, Boost, and three pillar pod for about $220.00. Which seems like a good price when compared to other sets. So my question is what's everybody's opinion on this particular brand? Are they good, and reliable or should I just not waste my money on them? Anybody out there with these particular gauges your experience would be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys and gals. There are some funky things going on with my Isspro gauges. I have the EV1's just for reference. First off I was driving down the road today and the mechanical fuel pressure gauge just started making this loud buzzing sound. The needle bounced in time with the buzzing and followed the engine rpm rise and fall. I am running a needle valve for the gauge adjusted as per Moparmans's video so I dont think the waterhammer could have taken it out. Did my gauge just crap out just because?? Next, the pyro. Over the last month there has been an issue right when I first turn the key on. The needle will bounce around and peg to both sides of the gauge for about…

Not sure if this will work or if anyone has tried this. I just finished with doing my front brakes and the parts guy commented of replacing the calipers. A mechanic said that if the calipers where working then no need to replace them, but I started looking on the internet. I noticed that the calipers for a Ram Van 2500 looks just like the calipers on the pickup except that it is two pistons instead of the pickups single piston. I have been looking in to doing a free spin hub conversion and one of the comments that I have read is that the Ford has better brakes because of the two piston calipers. So what I am wondering is if anyone has tried the van calipers on the pi…

  13. Hi all, I'm getting ready to replace my heater core based on Mopar's article on the site. It looks really straight forward other than this step: Discharge the freon from the Air Conditioning System I understand I'm going to have to recharge the AC system after replacing my heater core. What is the process of discharging the freon prior to removal?

I have some aftermarket POS on my truck now from the previous owner. I am looking to get a factory 6spd. shifter knob or a nice aftermarket one that doesn't feel like I am throwing around a piece of paper. Any ideas? The one I have is literally falling apart.

So I just finished doing my front brakes on my 99. Everyone says how hard they are to get off, glad my truck came from California, they just fell off. Getting them back on was a chore though, no one ever says how hard they are to reinstall. It took me an hour to take both sides apart and about three hours to put everything back together. Although some of that time was cleaning up the dirty parts. One thing I did find interesting was that my bearings did not have ABS sensors on them, I thought that they would? Not complaining, just was surprised not to see them on my truck.

Looks like a drawn out winter this year.... and as I watch my electric bill soar I'd like to buy a good 24 hour timer for my main chore tractor. It's the one I jump in every morning at sun up. Instead of having it plugged in all night, I wish to have it come on about 3 hours before hand. If I know I'll be going to town after chores, that's when I'll plug in the Dodge. any recommendations on a good outdoor timer? I'd think one up to 1500 watts should handle my tractor. Usually, we get a blast of cold, then it tempers within a few days. So far, it's been zero or less every night since almost Thank…

Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed a couple of instances where the air coming out of my vents seems extremly restricted. There is a little bit of air coming through is not normal. As I move the fan speed switch I can here the blower motor speed up and slow down accordingly. The vent selection makes no difference as it will vent air where Ihave it selected. Cold or Hot, no difference there either. It didn't work all weekend, but when I got in this morning the air blew very strong?? I assume that the problem will come back. It has been cold and wet here, but nothing record breaking. Could this be a symptom of a bad blend door? Any feedback would be much…

When I do my brake calipers, should I replace the rubber brake lines? If so, stock or upgrade of some kind. If I'm going to flush the brake fluid, might as well in my opinion. What's the difference between various brake fluids? Any upgrade advisable?
