Afternoon.I'm a full-time Rver, and tow a 26' fifth wheel about 25% of the time. I only have 140,000 miles on my Dodge, and since I'm retired I'd like for it to last another 10-15 years. It's a 1999 Dodge 2500 4x4 5spd 24 valve. My truck weighs 7700 pounds empty, and my fifth wheel weighs around 11,000. I have a Scangauge II, and also a EGT and boost gauge. I drive around 55mph towing and 60mph solo, and get around 10-11mpg towing, 20mpg solo. Oh, and my axle ration is 3.53 and everything in the truck is original equipment except for the Scangauge, EGT, and boost gauge. Now, for the question. I see a lot of discussion about things like lift pump failures and VP44 failures,…

I still have the Silencer Ring installed and I know a lot of folks run the Silencer Ring MIA. Understanding there really isnt any performance gain why do folks run it MIA? Just purely for the whistle? How loud is it? Any long term impact by running ring MIA?Thanks in advance

Hello, I need to cap of the factory fuel supply line. Back at the tank with the Dorman fittining. I have fuel that has been coming out when I drive it. I have since been done install a few weeks. I have the fuel pump on the block. I disconnected line from pump to fuel cannister because of using Vulcan big line kit. But didn't plug the old pumps outlet. Could I be pulling a vacuum some how? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,John

I just installed a BHAF and heat shield in my truck and was wondering if you just use the filter minder out of the factory air box? If so do you also use the rubber bushing that is on it or do you get a different one somewhere. I also just ditched my Isolator in favor of a needle valve and was wondering how far to turn it out? ThanksBrandon

Warmer weather's here... driving the CTD today... watching the mpg rise on the overhead (it's pretty close on my stock truck). Went from 15 to 16 today... same load of fuel. I'm figuring it for decent IAT. Last summer I nursed it up to 17.5~6 (with 4:10 gears).Russ

I was considering changing my setup for more performance. Fuel Pump, performance computer etc. My question is, with 90K on the ODO, is this an unwise path? I was basically considering Moparmans setup as I have the same truck, but I am (slightly) concerned on modding the almost 100K motor. Thoughts?

Well Gang... I finally got tired of the huge sloppy mess I would make while changing my Frantz Filter. It seems like every time I would lift the can off the TP roll would stick to the stem and the oil would drain everywhere down the fender. So I started looking at what I could do to change it and make it less messy... So here is mt new mounting... Here is a close up of my new battery mounting bracket... The other problem was even if I could get the filter off without the mess the stem tube would be still full of oil and this oil would be enough to darken the new oil in seconds. It would look like I never changed the oil... :wow But now w…

I recently purchased a 2001.5 Ram for my wife which still had the OEM lift pump in the stock location. After testing and determining 2 psi of fuel pressure, I replaced the filter which brought the fuel pressure up to 9 psi. Still not good enough in my book so I replaced the OEM lift pump with an Aertex lift pump in the stock location. This brought the fuel pressure up to 16 psi at idle but it could still be pulled down to about 10 psi. I found this to be marjinal and still not good enough. The next step was to relocate the pump. A friend was installing a 60 gallon fuel tank on his Ram 3500 and was generous in offering me the use of his shop to install my Air Dog 150…
