I apologize for posting this in the wrong forum but I need to get some quick feedback from anyone who might know something on an 03 Ram 1500 with a V6??My youngest Son is looking at this truck with 187K and the Owner is willing to make a good deal, but it has some engine noise which a mechanic told him was likely a rocker arm.I was planning to go look at it Friday and see for myself. My question is does anybody know if an 03 V6 would be a Roller cam engine? or flat tappet?I realize a noise like that could be any number of things, but replacing a roller cam setup is considerable more than an ordinary flat tappet if that proves to be the case.

Here's a link to contact Dodge to request info on your Truck-just ask for a build sheet and they will send it along with any warranty/campaign issues that haven't been addressed . :shrug:I did a quick search and couldn't find if someone had posted this. http://www.dodge.com/wccsapp/universal/D/index.jsp?appStr=wccs&titleStr=Contact+Dodge&familyStr=brand&franchise=D&actionURL=%2Fwccs%2Fbrand_forms%2Fus%2Fwebform.jsp&promotion=null&category=U

Hello all I have a 1974 Dodge D300 i bought this truck in the ongoing hope's of returning it back to it's former glory but I am having on going issue's with the Brake's. Ok when driving down the road after about 3- 5 mile's on a stright road using no brake's the brake's will slowly start to engane. Then completly lock to the rotor's to the point the motor will die from the strees to "push" itself. At this point i'm lost i have replaced the pad's, shoe's, Wheel cylinder's, Drum's, rotor's all line's front to rear top to bottom(Rubber/steel) the Master clyinder twice and Booster 3 time's, rebuilt the carb, changed the intake gasket and on and on i'm stumped my father is stum…

  9. My neighbor has a 99 dodge van and went through multiple front wheel bearing sets. Just last week the rear end bearings and unit failed. The conclusion was insufficient grounding. If this topic was covered here I appologize. I was curious as to what points the ground straps should be checked and/or added. I find this topic intriguing. How it applies to all vehicles and my 97 pickup 4x4 in particular has me scratching. Thanks

My sons' Stealth suddenly aquired a miss @idle, and surging bucking @ speed, 3 weeks ago. I told him to do a normal tune up.... plugs, wires... and even put new gaskets on the intake plenum (need to remove the intake to change plugs). No change.Took it to a Dodge dealer, and they ran the thing through their normal 'tests'. All they could find wrong is an actuator motor that changes the intake plenums' runner length...well, 6 hours shop time, a new motor actuator, and 9 bucks for a can of cumbustion chamber cleaner the bill came to ~$500... the 'miss @ idle' is gone, but it still misses pretty badly when ever the eng…

To start forgive me if this is in the wrong place. Hello to all and a happy new year I've been busy with work to the point this has gotten pushed off for months now and its finally time to make a move. So What I have is a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 quad short bed I've been driving this as my DD and I'm ready to fix the body or buy a newer truck. Reasons for replacement the current Ram has no usable sheet metal minus some in the cab I live in Wisconsin so clean used parts are hard to come by and to go out west and buy them would be nearly 5000 for parts and shipping then they still need to be installed and most shops wouldn't do a full body swap due to the V.I.N tag, I know of…

I have a 1999 Chrysler Sebring. I am getting pulse to the fuel injectors but am not getting fire to the plug wires.... Any ideas what it could be? I checked the crank sensor, it was good. The scanner is showing no current codes and no pending codes. Could it be the distributor coil? Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

So it seems I can get a crappy fel pro, a severe duty fel pro, or a victor head gasket. The severe duty one has a lot of bloat words that make me want it but I know how that usually goes. I ordered ARP head studs so I want a head gasket to match. If I let it sit for a while the oil seems to separate into coolant and oil but if you drive it the oil is perfectly black. The coolant in there is very minimal but I guess the head gasket has a nick in it somewhere.

That was what I wanted the shop to do while I had the Cirrus in. They didn't. The mechanic said he freed the cowel enough (the hood hinges extend into the cowel area) enough to view the inlet screen which he claims is intact & tighter than my expander metal. The only place mice can get into is the heater cage & heater core. It's a total "son-on-a-female-dog" for me to pull the heater & reach in by hand & clean it out... and worse still trying to hold the blower motor & install the screws. I'm calling BS on him. There's NO PLACE ELSE in the car with mice. There's no other way in from the outside. There MUST BE a defect in the plastic screen. T…

  17. OK, I didn't pick this car out, inherited it from Mom with 5 years / 8000 miles on the clock. I have gotten used to this car & even with my disability, I can get in & out ok. I've run it up to 120K. I ran KBB on it & it would be worth 1700 if I go through it. We must pay property tax on vehicles here (OUCH!!) and the tax man figures it on a NADA in best condition... So NADA on a 15 year old whatever is low but a new one would be steep. (On the bright side, they don't know that the Dodge/Cummins is worth more than NADA book!) Body is better than average, a few minor scratches it came with... a bunch of tree sap that needs to be removed again. …

  20. Converting a Dodge RAM 1999 RAM fuel pump wiring harness to Dodge RAM 2500 5.9Does anyone have the wiring diagrams for fuel pump harness on these two vehicles I am trying to in a jam use a Dodge 1500 fuel pump although it only has four wires and the original 2500 pump has six. I was hoping to use it until I can afford the a new 2500 pump. The wrecker only had a 1500 so I picked it up for 20 bucks hoping to do a temporary fix
