I think there was a thread around a while back about the Nissan Titan being offered with a new Cummins V8. I just got word that the new Toyota Tundras will be offered with the same Cummins. http://www.autoloandaily.com/tundra-diesel-2016-toyota-tundra-cummins-turbodiesel--3446 The Ram 1500's will be offered with some Italian diesel, not the Cummins. I think it has something to do with Chrysler's relationship to Fiat. Fiat is who will produce that italian diesel for the new Rams. I have not heard either way if the 2500/3500's will still have a Cummins or not though. Just thought I would post something about it because it is a big change in the diesel world. Jus…

well, my experience with my new-to-me Toyota pickup was pretty good the first month. My son drove it from Montana back to Nebraska right after Christmas. This is a 1994 4x4 22re 5 speed. The 22re is a 2.4L 4 cylinder.. It had some timing chain rattling, and clutch was slipping some. Pretty much expected on 185,000 miles. But, the body and frame is rock solid. Then the head gasket let go..... sigh. Time to break out the metric wrenches. I joined yotatech.com a forum site for similar 'yota' enthusiasts! ( I see AH641D lurking in there too!) And while there is a pile of …

Ok, so to replace the totaled ford f150, I been looking at a possible toyo or Nissan for our daily 'bomber'.... 4 cylinder, manual trans, and 4X4 is kinda what Im looking for.DANG them things hold their value! 20-25 yr old trucks AT LEAST $3500!!! If they are priced cheaper, it's because a cat could crawl though the rust holes. (or engine is blown/missing etc)Does anyone know why on a lot of the Toyota listings, referencing the condition of the frame rails? Seems like there may be an issue with these? I've seen ads with: Frame has some rust. Or Frame is ok. …

Thought I'd share our new gas miser. 01 Beetle TDI 5 speed 118,000 miles Picked it up dirt cheap from an elderly lady. Acquired all service records as well (dealer serviced) Bought it for the wife to commute back and forth in but if I can get my hands on the keys I'm going to run around in this little roller skate as much as I can. This little car is a blast to drive!! So far I've put one trip on it of 105 freeway miles between 65 and 70 mph. Filled up before I left and again when I returned. She used a whopping 2.4 gallons. Cant complain about that one bit! JR now Free

Anybody here familiar with these motors? We have one in our Claas silage chopper. I want to put a pyrometer on it and I'm wondering where the best location is and what the parameters are for the max temps. If nobody knows can you direct me to a source for the info?

My son has a 95 Honda Accord, not sure of engine, but it has an auto tranny. He has been having trouble with starting lately. Some times when he tries to start it, it just turns over but does not start. He has found if he puts it in neutral, pushes it 2 or 3 feet it will start right up. Is there some kind of safety switch he might be tripping by doing that? If I am not mistaken autos have a safety so they wont start in any thing other than park or neutral.

We've got a 2006 megacab and also the second gen cummins. Things have changed in our family. Becoming more less empty nesters after 6 kids. Down to 1.5 and they drive themselves now. We are looking to sell the magacab and get a high mileage diesel sedan or wagon. My first choice would be a wagon. We are pretty big people too,so roominess is a plus. We would also like to spend no more than the money we can get for the megacab ($22,000?). Is there a year and model of diesel rig that you guys can recommend? I'm thinking VW. Don't know of any other options.

Does anyone know how to take a CD that is stuck in an am/fm/cd player out that is in a 2004 Nissan Frontier XE King Cab ? I have tried the disconnect battery to reset and it doesn't work. I tried the inserting a business card to trick the player that it's an original CD and that doesn't work. And ideas to remove it without taking it to the dealer ?Please let me vent now:Last friday I was in a left turn lane waiting for the light to green and when it did, it appeared to be safe, so I started my left turn when a nice young lady in her 20's, I guess, thought my spare little pickup needed a body modification. I will say she did a great job. Never thought the front left sectio…

Our local mail person drives a little Subaru Impreza its either 2002 or 2003 model. Well needless to say she came over to visit MoparMom and she mention that her car its making a squeaking noise now this coming from a lady that is 80% deaf. So when she fired up here car I was in the house this thing was SCREAMING! I told her to drive it home and park it. I would come over and deal with it tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and I show up at her place and started working on diagnosing the noise. First thing I did pull the belts off and still screaming and grinding. Uh-Oh! I'm going to have to pull the cam belt covers off and look and see. So I proceeded to pull the covers off and rel…

I finally took some pics of my new toy. Kubota B2150 4x4 24 hp 4 cylinder 1.2l naturally aspirated diesel.Has 950 hours on it.Did a full end to end service and amsoiled it 100% right down to the coolant and fuel additive. All filters changed.Added a cutting edge to the bucket and added a rearward facing work light.Repaired a few minor items I found that needed attention as one would expect with a 15+ year old piece of equipment. Tractor came with a box scraper and the brand new loader already mounted, loader has a universal quicktach and came with a rather large 68 inch wide bucket but it should be perfect for snow removal. I already had the 60 inch Jinma snowblower.Got …

So this might be a bit out of the norm. I am doing a 350 Chevy swap into my sons 1983 FJ-60. The motor is a 1987 out of a GMC van (I know, probably not everyone’s first choice but I have to play with the Colorado emissions standards). The transmission is an older model 700R4. To the meat of the question. The Toyota wiring harness had a four wire plugt hat went along the frame and plugged into the transmission if I recall, sorry the swap has taken longer then I thought it would. One wire is a white black I think is a ground. One is a yellow black that I have no idea what it is. One is a blue and if I power it sends power to the dash. The fourth is a red blue (?) that …

Russ - this might be for you Anyone else feel free alsoThinking about buying me a boat. I have no idea on gas engines never worked on one (car or boat). I assume the principles are the same except you have spark plugs for ignition rather than combustion and carburetor for balancing the air/fuel mix.So a bit on that but a focus on marine boat engines (inboard or outboard). How hard are they to work on, what to look for when going to check out a boat and common pain/$$ points.Looking for a good overview - not too much specific detail at first .....:thumbup2:thanks !!!

Hey guys i know its been a long time since ive been on but ive been working about 65 hours a week for 7 days a week!! Since my truck is down i have been driving my trusty ol 93 honda civic with a 1.5l non V-tec and this morning i noticed that the temp gauge was well above where it noramlly rides!! So i turned on the heater and it dropped down where it noramlly runs and it was blowing hot air. So then i turned off the heater and it slowly rose back up even doing 70 mph down the highway! It wont drop unless the heater is running. So im thinking a stuck thermostat??? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!!

We just returned from spending a month in the UK and driving about 2600 miles. While I have put almost a million miles on standard transmission cars I didn't like the thought of driving on the opposite side of the road AND trying to shift gears with my left hand in traffic so I asked for an automatic. When we arrived at the Alamo rental in south London (Kennington) the gentleman said that with the miles we had planned a diesel made the most sense so a practicaly new Golf was brought out. I should say that gas and diesel both sell for about 1.45 pounds / liter and with the pound selling for $1.62 that works out to a little over $9 per gallon. The car has a seven speed tran…
