I'm pretty sure my converter/inverter is bad. The only way to charge the batteries is to hook it to my truck or put a charger directly to the batteries. I have a 2005 Rage'n Xtra Lite and have no idea where it's located...or even what it looks like. Rage'n is out of business so there's no technical support. I'd like to find it so I can troubleshoot it. Any ideas?

The Toyhauler has a Norcold model N621 propane / electric refridgerator. (There is a recall for certain serial numbers of this model but not mine.) The trailer has an onboard charging system (under the kitchen) and a 3 matched battery bank RV/Marine (I think they are group 24) on the tongue behind the propane tanks. Batteries came with the trailer, previous owner claimed they were "new" but frankly, we bought in the Spring & the trailer was not in use over the winter so most likely a season old at that point. I'm no longer able to set up a primitive camp, so we are setting up a day camp & RVing in the parking lot of rendezvous... totally off the grid. But s…

This was our first pull and white did great and I really enjoyed myself too. Did not get a full pull but pretty good for the first try. Second pull was better but just a few feet shy still. This is where I ended up on the last pull.

  6. I am wanting to set up my (new to me ) 05 to carry my slide in camper as well as pull a boat or trailer while I have the camper on.The class III hitch that comes with the vehicle won't handle the load of using an 48" extension to haul a 5-6k trailer load.So I am contimplating adding a new Class V hitch. Of course there are several to choose from but I do not have any previous experience in adding a Class V to a truck.Curt, Reese, Tork-Lift, etc., are a few I am looking at. I have used the Tork-lift camper tie downs on my 2nd gen and liked them real well and am planning to add them to my 05 as well. But the hitch is a new deal for me. Some of the hitches use a 2.5" exten…

  8. I had torn out the panel under the tub so I could seal around the plumbing to keep the mice out. See earlier post: http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/3810-Rodent-Combat!! I wrecked the original panel, a vynal coating on about 2 plys of thin wood on a frame of 3/4 X 3/4 wood. After I finished closing up the plumbing access, I installed wood strips to screw to with the new panel. There is sat waiting for me to get back to it. Yesterday I did (finally) get the panel back in. The top has to tuck under the hook on the tub edge & I had to flex the wall some to get past the corner moulding to the left. I ran a row of screws along the floor into the strip I'd in…

I'm planning to upgrade the winch on my trailer, which will also entail putting a full size deep cycle battery onboard. I'm failing at finding high amperage DC battery chargers, just the 800mA units for breakaway batteries. If I draw down this battery winching a dead pile on flat tires 100' and up onto the trailer, I don't want it to take a month to get the battery back up to full power. Is there something in between the $300-500+ full RV inverter systems that have a ton of features I don't need (like shore power charging, built in inverters, etc) and the $8 throwaway 800mA and less "maintainer" type changers? --- Update to the previous post... Figures, I …

I've been toying with the idea of a backup camera both for my TV but also for the rear of our 22 ft toy hauler. What I have in mind would be a single 7 inch monitor that I could switch between the two cameras but not see both at the same time. I hear that the wireless models don't seem to perform well but are way easier to install/read cheaper. I figure that there must be people on this forum that have one or the other so what's your opinion and if you don't mind saying what brand, how are they working and how much they cost that would be great, thanks Gerry

Since my RV has a TV stand build in and I just happen to have a older 13" TV I could toss in the RV. Why not I picked up a little RCA Analog to Digital Converter for the TV on my last trip and figure I'd give it a shot. Camped out in Emmett, ID I cranked up the antenna and flipped on the booster (Winegard). Hooked up the RCA D to A converter and fired up the TV. Wow! Works awesome. :woot:I found that if you flip over to menu and show the signal strength you can tune your antenna for greatest signal strength. Then go back through your channel search again and pickup any missing channels. Not bad for $50 bucks at WalMart and being in Emmett, ID and getting 8 channel…

I know there is a few of you that might use your RV's through the winter time or just in cold temperatures. Like myself I wanted to keep propane bills low as possible, save water by not having to warm the pipe up again, and just prevent freezing if used in cold temps. So I went down to the local hardware store (C & M Lumber) and picked up several lengths of foam pipe insulation for the RV. You want to look for the insulation that has adhesive on the split part also RV you want 1/2" pipe insulation. It a pretty basic install cut cut to fit, slide the foam over the pipe, pull the cover tape and stick together. Now when it comes to cutting corners it will take some practic…

  18. Started by AH64ID,

The Wife and I ended up getting a new TT this past week. Our 18CK (22') was getting a little too small on rainy days, and cold mornings with 3 rug rats. We got a Outdoors RV Creekside 26BKS (29') with a 12' slide and bunk beds. Should be a great trailer for the family. We spend 95% of the day outside when camping, but for that other 5% the room will be very handy. The main reason we decided to upgrade is that our 2007 Pioneer is still worth about 90% of what we paid for it in 2007 (got a screaming deal) and we got the 26BKS about 35% off MSRP. It has some great features, 12' Slide, 4 Seasons, HD axles, lots of ground clearance, plenty of storage for my 4 girls, etc …

Hey everyone! I got me a brake controller here. At first, it did not work right at all. I hooked up a trailer to tow a forklift and the lights never worked right. The wiring was all screwed up. I tried fixing it, and it still was not right. Even though I followed exactly what the instructions said. So I took it to a place and it took then like 3-4 hours to fix. Finally, everything was working!I towed a 24' travel trailer, all was well. Well, that was about a month or two ago. I noticed one day, that when I step on the brake pedal, the brake controller light does not come on? It did before after I paid to get it fixed! I checked the fuses, they are good. I have not screwed…

  20. I bought this trailer to transport my mobility scooter... been shopping & burning fuel (misleading ads... hating the lieing SOBs! Did they think I wouldn't see the rust?) So this one was cheap, $200... because the seller honestly stated it needed work. It has a drop in plank at the rear, no ramp, tilt trailer. When I arrived, he had his compressor out but couldn't get one tire to hold air... dry rotted anyway... so I bought 2 New tire/wheel assemblies at Harbor Freight $105 & he put them on. Trailer lights were there but not working... I high-tailed it. Near an hour drive, highway through major urban area... tried to use the truck signals & …
