  3. As I sit here reading over alot of the posts on this forum day after day I will admit even though alot of these subjects are explained out and I can read and read until I turn blue, I still find alot of them hard to grasp to where I feel I could do what your talking about . I feel my capabilities are limited to brakes, wheel bearings, and the other minor things repairs are done to, nothing to the extent you guys do. I said it before and i'm saying it again, I would love to see alot of you guys put up against alot of Cummins mechanics, and especially any mechanic from Dodge or Cummins from my area.....they would be made to look like fools! Let them explain how a MPG fo…

Went to Chadwick,MO (Springfield/Branson area) over the weekend and went riding again. The last time I went there I thought it sucked, but for some reason I think I must have just went in a circle on the same 4 miles or something. We hit just about every trail there this time and I must say, it is very difficult but incredibly fun. I kinda have a thing for very difficult trails. There were piles of rocks for hundreds of feet that would knock your teeth out riding over them. Then there were the looser gravel trails that would take the whole bike wherever it wanted, those were the most fun to me. The guy I rode with had met up with his family from indianapolis along w…

NO horses allowed to compete (unfair advantage). All horsemen know that after a horse has been bathed, brushed, trucked for miles & saddled up, he'll immediately throw a shoe! A shoe may be no more than 7 1/4" wide and 7 5/8" long, and weigh no more than 2 lb 10 oz without the horse! Ringers score 3 points, leaners and others within 6" of stake count 1 point. Double score from shoes thrown from horseback. The pitching stakes are to be 14" high and 40 feet apart, and are not to be confused with Belmont Stakes or Sirloin Steaks. Shoes thrown with the horse attached will not count, however no one will mess with the person so doing! …

Today around here is a perfect example of why I hate March/early Spring around here...............It's 36* outside and raining hard with a 15mph wind from the East off of Lake Michigan. It's effing bone chilling cold outside now. I'll take the -20* and wind as long as all the water is frozen solid. At least it's dry!!!! It's so blasted damp and wet out, that you can't get/feel warm!!!!! I'm not a puss either!!! My Grandpa used to say that damp wind had razor blades in it!!!!! He was right!!!!!

I want to do more testing on my truck to see how things work. I did the valve thing so we know where they are at at both TDC's but that is one of the many things we don't know about these trucks. Another thing I want to do is measure how long the pump is pushing fuel. It won't be perfectly accurate since I have to do it unpressurized so part of the fuel that is under the pop pressure will not make it out the injector but it should give us a rough idea. I know there are a hundred other interesting things about our trucks that would be neat to know but I wondered if you guys had any specifics. Maybe even something we already know but another way of proving it. It can …

  13. I took it in late on Friday, March 4th. I knew it would not be worked on over that weekend but that was when the wife & I were both available to move it. I've called & stopped in periodically but tried not to be a time waster. Because I had some flexibility, I didn't make a fuss at first. Now, I feel I'm being used for a door mat. I know the guy recently had a baby... which can cause sleep fatigue issues.I know he makes less money on me as I have some of my own parts.I've done good there before but I am reaching the point where I'm going to take the truck out of there. I need this truck back... the other 2 family vehicles need service too. Waiting on…

Somehow we managed to get a couple inches of snow overnight. But it is more of this slushy freezing crap that is about 10x more slick than any "snow". It is like driving on ice BUT, I think everyone knows how slush is if you only drive with it on one side of the vehicle. So you are hitting constant deep and shallow slush spots that literally pull the truck off the road. I had the dakota sideways 3 times before I finally told the people at work I wasn't coming, and that was only 5 miles into the 35 mile journey to work. I was going 20mph in 4wd perfectly straight and it just whipped sideways from the slush density constantly. You can deal with real snow no matter how…

If the Nuclear reactor power plant in Japan happens to have a meltdown you will want to protect yourself by stocking up on Potasium iodide to protect your Thyroid gland. You should have it any ways as the thyroid needs this for proper function. But it will help prevent the thyroids intake of radio active material/radiation thus protecting the rest of the body. Plus it helps flush fluoride and bromine from the thyroid. Just need to be prepared folks. You military guys should be familiar with it as your basic gov isued first aide kits contain this for just the purpose of radiation exposure protection. Remember we have a westerly dominant wind in this country so once i…
