Just trying to get to know the folks here and thought I'd ask what everyone does for a living? Some of you know enough that I'm guessing there are at least a few Dodge techs amongst us? Maybe?I'm the Equipment Manager, basically a service/fleet manager, for the golf and grounds department at Turning Stone Resort in NY. I manage 3 shops with 6 Equipment Techs and we maintain and repair all the equipment for our department. Everything from chainsaws to excavators for a crew of 125+ operators during the growing season and 50 operators when we are on our snow plow schedule. I also have my own repair business that I run nights and weekends. Mostly turf equipment but I occasion…

I'll post pix when I get them from Doug!!!:thumbup2:Do they make "dog cigars"??? 29 pups total in 3 litters now...........she's a little "fertile Myrtle" and Spud must have some "super swimmers"!!!!!!!!!

As a kid I have always dreamed of flying. But not just flying anything. I'm talking about flying the fighter jets! I loved how they could be the big dog of skies. Growing up though, I started noticing that is not so much of a reality for me, haha. Although, if I could have ever gotten in and flown, I would definitely have tried to be an A-10 Warthog pilot. Those things are just too cool!Anyways, I was wondering if anyone here is in the Air Force, or has been recently. This may not even be a viable alternative for me, considering how things are going. But I figure this can't hurt to talk about. As we all know, finding work and staying busy is getting harder. In the last 3 y…

Okay guys, I could not find the thread on the topic of the 911 forum, but, I suppose this is appropriate enough.I noticed a flaw about this idea...Its nice that we have this 911 forun going and all.BUT, I gave it a thought for a second while I was driving...How 'am I gonna get ahold of someone if there is an emergency and I want to see if someone is in the area or get on the forum? There is only a couple of solutions, and maybe it has already been addressed.1. Pre-plan your potential contacts if you are going through that persons said area.2. Have a data phone3. Have a laptopAnd hope that with solution 2 and 3 you will have enough reception to access the information on the…

Oh yeah the water temp is roughly 36-38*F and getting your feet wet sucks.

...for obvious reasons :)Ubuntu 11.10 on my Gateway LT2811u netbook, right now. I likes it on this little box, because it's only got 1GB DDR3 ram, and Linux doesn't bloat the services like Microshaft. So anyhoo.. I've got this little netbook, and I'm considering adding a nav/gps setup to it and use it in the truck, since my Garmin nuvi decided to take a dump..However, I can't really find any good info on respectable GPS/NAV applications for Linux. Ever considered this? Researched it any?Just curious..

(sorry it's in CAPS, but that's how my mom sent it to me, and I wasn't gonna re-type it..) LAST WEEK, ETHEL CHECKED INTO A MOTEL ON HER 60TH BIRTHDAY AND SHE WAS A BIT LONELY. SHE THOUGHT, "I'LL CALL ONE OF THOSE MEN YOU SEE ADVERTISED IN PHONE BOOKS FOR ESCORTS AND SENSUAL MASSAGES." SHE LOOKED THROUGH THE PHONE BOOK, FOUND A FULL PAGE AD FOR A GUYCALLING HIMSELF TENDER TONY - A VERY HANDSOME MAN WITH ASSORTED PHYSICAL SKILLS FLEXING IN THE PHOTO. HE HAD ALL THE RIGHT MUSCLES IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES, THICK WAVY HAIR, LONG POWERFUL LEGS, DAZZLING SMIL…

I want to try this thing out. I have a separate hard drive with windows 8 on it that I will gladly format. Can't believe what a joke 8 is. I am not that good with software related crap so if anyone wants to see how it's done (by means of someone who isnt very computer savvy) then watch this thread as I will post screenshots and stuff (if I can figure out how). Maybe I am just setting myself up for disaster but I don't think I have anything to lose. I am big on a fancy interface though.. If I wanted it to look like windows 95 I woulda kept windows 95. So I am currently downloading it from here and then I will throw it on a USB stick. Stay tuned.

My water temp is still fluctuating all over from 190-220 or so I put in my old t-stat and ran it up the road. I forgot about my tags expiring 8 days ago and a sheriff stopped me. While im setting there with my 3yr old another sheriff pulls up and then another. They get out to shoot the crap with the one that pulled me over and finally after about 10 minutes come back to my truck and ask me to get out. Said he stopped me for my expired tags and then asked if i frequent a local road. I said I go down it sometimes but not frequent and hardly ever in the truck because its usually parked and im in the car. When I told him not in the truck, he looked at the other officer real q…

Just for the learning experience I'm building a web server here on this computer I normally use... It currently setup as a dual boot Ubuntu Linux 11.10 x64 and Windows Vista x64. So I went through and install LAMP server on Ubuntu and then installed Webmin WHM (Web Hosting Manager). Started thinking well it would be kind of fun to let some of you test drive the server and play with it. So I hooked up no-ip.com and installed it software to give me a free domain name with a dynamic IP. Now mind you if my computer goes down or I'm booted in Windows Vista the site will be gone... But here is a sneak peak at the site so far... http://mopar1973man.no-ip.org <- Part of the…

Long ago, in a previous life... the boat marina I worked at had a off road fork lift. We had 10' X 10' negitive drop & extra long forks made up on 4x6" steel tubing. We would sometimes extend the forks even further with wooden extensions in the hollow forks. We could lift outboard type boats out of the water on the forks and put them in in dry stack racks in the building. We could use it to pull motors... we'd walk boats back into the lift slip, put the forks under the flying bridge, with a cross beam & chainfall pull an engine, get it above deck level, walk the boat forward until the motor was over the cockpit (but not the stern rail) and lift it out free. …

A paraprosdokian is a phrase or sentence that leads us down the garden path to an unexpected ending. Winston Churchill loved them."Where there's a will, I want to be in it," is a paraprosdokian. 1. Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.2. The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on my list.3. Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.4. If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.5. We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.6. War does not determine who is right - only who is left..7. Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit.…
