  • It's for "Two Cycle Water Cooled".  I'm guessing the "3" stands for the generation or improvement or the like.

What is the ratio of 2 cycle to a tank of fuel?

1989 to 2002 you run 128:1 ratio or 1 ounce per gallon of fuel pumped in the tank.

2003 and up you run 200:1 ratio or roughly 1 ounce of oil for every 2 gallons of fuel.

I got my buddy to switch over to 2 stroke on his 06 Dmax. He used to get a low fuel rail pressure light at WOT (Has egr blocker, exhaust, intake, built trans, and EFI by Idaho Rob). Now with the 2 stroke, he gets no light and the truck seems to run better. He does 1oz per gallon and it seems to work for him. Truck is at 253K and still sounds good!

2 Cycle oil basically follows the same kind of rules like engine oil. As standards and specification change they continue to hold that level never regressing back. So Ashless oils are standard as far as I know.

Ok  1oz per gallon.  8oz to cup. 3 cups to a 24 gallon fill up.

I just have a couple oils engine oil quart bottles filled with 2-stroke sitting in the bed of the truck.  I generally fill up around 1/4 tank and use almost the whole quart.  Not much science behind it for me.....
