Well I’m thinking about doin a turbo swap. I would like to have around 400 450 hp. I will be purchasing a qaud v2 before too long. I’m thinking I will do injectors too. What size would you do with the HE351 and v2? And now for the turbo... do I want the variable geometry or the cw model? I would also like an exhaust brake which I believe is built into these turbos? Has anyone else done this swap? What was your experience? Anyone please chip in with questions comments or concerns.

Mods should be in signature. Fass 150 is alsonin the books before long!

And just to clarify the truck is running well now. No issues besides the fact it snowed 6 inches yesterday and I hit the ditch! Took out the neighbors mailbox with deer guard!  Thanks guys!!

  • The oil feed comes from the filter housing. The drain goes into the pan at the bottom of the block.    Maybe the white box is aftermarket? Go genuine Holset.

  • Are you looking for a tow tune at 400-450 or a street tune at 400-450 and 350-375 for towing?   The reason I ask is the HE351CW is about a 350-375 rwhp turbo for towing at altitude and reaso

Thanks! Dap has a genuine Holset rebuild kit and a white box rebuild kit. What’s the difference?

Sorry for not clarifying but I’m asking about the hose on the left. The right one I believe is the oil drain that goes to the oil filter.

Should all the soot be removed from exhaust side of turbo? If so with what?

Edited by Marcus2000monster

Why?  It's just gonna get sooted up again.  The compressor side needs a good cleaning though.

Hey guys I guess I kind of changed my mind about this turbo swap and injector deal. Number one reason is cost. Number too is I’m going to end up breaking things because of too much power. So at this point I’m thinking I want to keep the hx35 and do 75hp sticks and a can bus only tuner. What y’all think about that setup? As is that will gain me more hp than the Juice will Alone.

My 50s and are good bit smokier than the RVs i was running even with the sub level turned way down.
