Recently made a purchase.  It is a 1996 E350 Club Wagon, complete with a forged rod 7.3L Power Stroke.  Buddy found this van on Craigslist for $1000 advertised as non-running, non driving, had a bad title, and no pictures.  But they guy responded.  So we headed to look at this thing, and found that it DID run, DID drive, DID have a clean title, and of course was nasty cause he was living out of it off and on (and it was $1000).  We talked the guy down to $600 and the Boost Bus was acquired.  Right now the rear seats and interior panels are completely stripped out, side doors don't work, only one rear door opens, and the lock cylinders in the front doors don't work so the lock is a padlock on the rear barn doors.

I want to lower it, put a tuner on it and take it down the drag strip at least once.  Eventually we want to put seats and a mini-bar in it.  Additional thoughts or ideas?

Of course, a $600 vehicle with 309k miles is not without issues.  Turbo needs a little help before any burnouts can take place. :(

  • Needs an intercooler as well.  But that'll be easy. Oh, and #firstmod is a Cummins sticker on the back window, to show how little we care.

  • It's the second diesel vehicle I've purchased out of Boulder... My pickup came from the north side of town.  This wonderful piece of engineering came from Pearl Street.  i'm surprised it was allowed t

This time it’s just gonna destroy the torque converter. ?‍♀️

Stock E4OD I assume?

Yeah your diff. has nothing to worry about this time.

Absolutely stock. It already does a fun thing where if you floor it at speed, it'll unlock, upshift to third, then wait a few seconds and bang shifts second. So that's cool. It's gonna blow up.

Probably just needs a shift kit :sofa:

I think your are better off buying a boat.  at least you have fun while you throw money into a endless hole.

Well, I just purchased a tuner for it, so here goes nothing.  Plus, we aren't in our home state where a boat can easily be plopped in the water that's close to your house.

Tuner is in, turbo is back in, hood pins installed (#racecar!) and the van finally did a burnout!.

Of course, right after I get back from seeing how much quicker the van is now (butt dyno says yes, is very quicker) my buddy tells me he's getting rid of his 96 OBS and will sell me his relatively new 200/100 injectors, a 66 mm turbo and Super Duty intercooler setup, gauges, and his tuner with custom tunes for CHEAP.  Dammit.  Was hoping to not fall too far down the modification tunnel again.  But here we are.  Supporting mod time!

Just wanted to reassure everyone that every modification is done in a very professional matter. And that it made all of 15 pounds of boost last night.

Not pictured: a dozen or so empty beer cans between myself and a buddy.

Remember Mike.  Only the best for this van!

Black gorilla tape, very sticky and has a more textured look. Really looks good after baking in the sun a few days.

Thanks for the tip!  We are gonna have to find something with more holding power than electrical tape..... or when we put the backlight in the gauge we will re run the boost line through the dash cap

We would not want you to have drive a tacky van.

Man, I appreciate you guys looking out for me.

Maybe use camouflage tape and no one would see it

Friends don't let friends play with Ford products without the proper safety equipment. At least no one will know it's you driving the Ford...
