Are 275 TV injectors still ok for slight up grade or did something better come around?  Towing ability?  Found real old write up but can't link to work.

i went a step above the 275's and got 60HP injectors, they give you a real 275HP, over the 40 or so you see with the RV 275's. as for install and removal of injectors see my write up guide herehttp://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/25-fuel-system/255-24v-injector-install-video it includes videos and everything.

RV275 injectors are basically a +40HP injector which was stock injector size for the ISB Cummins powered RV's. It's a minor upgrade doesn't require much for supporting mods. This would be one of those

  • For the person who a little more power economically you can't beat them. Pair it with an edge ez or something comparable and it's a god mix. The rv's and a simple tuner is relatively cheap plus you sh

I'm getting ready to send my OEM stock injectors in and get new nozzles and popped on the high side 310 to 315 bar. Closing in on 100k miles on these 7 x0.0085 injectors.

Hey Mike, long time no post. Fill me in on the stock injectors that sounds interesting. I don't run the EZ anymore, all I have is DDP 50hp injectors and they have always had strange miss. I think you mentioned adjust valves, no help there so I was looking to see what was the next best injector to go with.

It really depends on your goal with the truck and motor. Closer to stock hp wise. Currently there's a huge discussion/debate about pop pressures and injector sizes.

I have 100s, and I'm getting mine set to 320 bar to see how it clears up the smarty S03.

In all reality anything you do hp c wise with injectors should be backed up by a programmer.

Why do you say injectors need backedbup just curious? Iv got 75s and a boost fooler. Fairly laggy but not bad power and good mpg

Had to many bad dealings with programmers, just wanting injector hp with out the smoke. Just checking around to see whats new in the injector world.

Won't happen. Being the ECM timing curve is way too retard for most driving styles. There are only two tuners that give full control of the timing and fuel curves now. Quadzilla Adrenaline and the Smarty UDC. Hands down the Quadzilla Adrenaline gives the best control of the VP44 for the money. Smarty UDC is way too expensive and way too complex for most people here to even dive into the UDC tuning. Quadzilla with a handful of numbers can create a good tune.

Being that most your time will be spent at about 12* to 14* BTDC timing with just a ECM tune. Now with the Quadzilla I'm floating 20* to 21* BTDC at 55 to 65 MPH. Then problem is once the engine load (commanded fuel) is above about 18% to 20% stock your timing falls off into a blackhole which now creates more EGT's and slight rises in boost pressure which is not needed at cruise state. My current Quadzilla tune drops the EGT's as low as 450*F at 55 MPH and boost falls to nearly ZERO this brings the engine load down as low as 15% (commanded fuel). I'm floating 20-21 MPG now and pushing upwards.

The stock ECM timing and fueling map leaves much to be desired. Running larger injectors will decrease duration, but they won't give much more for flow. But having built a bunch of towing rigs over time I have yet to find a larger injector that fixing the EGT's. The higher EGT's tells me that the timing is too retarded across the board. When towing you need a programmer to get back some of your lost timing that you loose with the larger injectors. Its easy to advance the timing and duration with larger injectors, but the stock timing leaves much to be desired.

EDIT: Larger Injectors will still flow the same amount of fuel as meter by the VP-44. Without a programmer you can't compensate for the added fueling. Usually these injectors are also popped lower to allow for more flow, and sooner poop off. This just exacerbates the poor map.

EDIT: It looks like Mike already answered it in a better way then I could.
