  • Well my nv5600 is holding up to roughly 650 hp/1400 tq, and has been for a while now so I would argue the rear bushing being a weak point.    Woth proper fuel pressure and maintenance, a VP

  • I am closing in on you at just under 240k on mine. Boght mine when i was on the dark side of the moon.

  • Yeah hi, 650 hp/1500 tq NV5600 here. Been there for about a year now.  I disagree with these claims of the bushing failing. I’ve never heard of that before ever.  If you plan your shifts and when you

I'm hoping to get 200k-250k out of the rebuilt replacement pump and you are doing well with the rebuild.

The stock numbers are 245/505, and the NV5600 is the weak spot with the rear bushing.  So that is why I don't want to do any high numbers, I want to stay as stock as possible.

Funny, when buying my truck everyone said nv5600 was the way to go, I guess it's better than Auto. Now I'm scared of letting all the power out taking off, I still use it rolling in slowly but definitely not from the stop. It's just never enough :burnout:

With this being said 5 speed is the best transmission out there. They always said the 6 speed had a beefer input shaft and didn't have the 5th gear nut problem. The funny part is my 5 speed held up just fine it was only the main shaft that failed at the 3rd/4th gear. Now 6 speeds have bushing problems and can't handle power.

That's why I was told to run extra oil by local shop, they said vn ftup on where they put a fill hole, and if I run 1qt overfill it should last a long time. But I guess with increased hp and taking off aggressively it's not good on anything.

The rear bushing is a press in, if it spins, the transmission is toast.

Well, I went with the......

170 P7100 pump.  Currently using the VP injectors, with VP pop of pressures, I will change them out soon.  The truck idles at about 900 rpm, however it does very decent, being set at stock settings.  I have put about 200 miles on it so far and am happy with the performance and will be adjusting the pump up for better performance with the pump warranty is up.

170 hp? Is that from an industrial application?

The cruise currently does not work.

No, not an industrial model, just a early p-pump, or just the number on the side of the pump.
