Today I had new front cab mounts installed on my truck. 2001 2500 auto. There is a lever I am assuming that does something with the transmission on the driver side front cab mount. And now we are having trouble with the truck going in and out of neutral while driving.  Please help

the shift shaft is in that area.   I would be looking at the bushing that the rod sits in.  that can get bumped out of it's holder and cause issues with not knowing what gear you have selected or not getting fully in gear.

Check out the part # lookup tool

At first we could not get the truck to start until we got that in a somewhat ok pos.  So it’s starting now having that trouble. And forgot to measure where the brackets need to be bolted on.  So I think where we have that bracket bolted is a big issues not being in the right place as before

There should be a set bolt that you just loosen up, then with the transmission and lever in park tighten the screw back down. It'll probably move quarter inch or so from its original spot, basically you're trying to make that shift rod longer.

Would you happen to have a pic of what are you talking about in that area ?

No I don't, I'm going of memory working on other autos back in the day and they all had some sort of adjustment on that rod

So I am assuming that adjustment is down on the  rod close to where it bolts to that bracket mounted to the cab mount ?
