Is there a way to tell which Denso diode I need... by looking at the alt is still hooked up?

Like maybe that threaded bolt coming out is in different spot?

    This may help show the difference.  

  • The larger cable on your pic appears to be coming out the side not the back.   So I think the bottom pic you posted with the all flat module is what you would need.

I honestly don’t have any experience with these specific products but the vertical or horizontal lead should be fairly obvious. Do you have a picture of your current alternator? I have a 99 and if I remember correctly mine comes out the back . Horizontal or your first picture.

That's the difference, on will come out of back and one from side. Just see where your stud comes out.

thats right....in I rder one from larry b...got the 90 degree exit on the bench 

 

mine is straight and i cannot locate one anywhere.  

 

a member did modify the rear cover and used the 90 outlet with no issues yet.

Either the charge stud comes out the side or out the back.

You have a side mount B+ terminal and need this type of diode pack.

A rear B+ terminal alternator looks like this,

I'm going to hold off ordering till you get back back on your feet.
