(i would also appreciate that everyone doesn't scold me for buying it as i have already installed it and i need to make some money with this truck before i will shell out the cash to go a better route)

I looked in the FSM and for the stock lift pump on the side of the engine, it said normal current flow was 12A.   I'm surprised it is that high...

  • Well i will not scold for buying the pump. I paid big bucks to Dodge for one about 9 years ago. If I had to depend on for anything but getting to and from work i would have been in  bad way. If you re

Well i will not scold for buying the pump. I paid big bucks to Dodge for one about 9 years ago. If I had to depend on for anything but getting to and from work i would have been in  bad way. If you re using the truck for hauling for a living, you need a better pump. Just my experience.

I don't know for sure but FASS uses a 10A fuse for it's system, I can't see a small in-tank pump using more than that.  You can check under the hood and see what size fuse is used for the factory pump (I think there is one in the PDC for the fuel pump ).  The only true way to know is if you can connect it up and run it and check it with a meter like IBMobile said.

Definitely no fuse for the lift pump. The fuel system fuse in the pdc is for the VP.

I put a relay on my intank pump (completely hybrid fuel system...don't ask) and fused it with a 10 amp. Hasn't popped it yet so I would guess something under that (5 amps maybe?).
