Just got this truck 3 weeks ago.....lift pump wasn't working....I never checked to see if it was getting power or anything.I just bought a new raptor and spent the last 2 days putting it in......changed the fuel filter and bumped the starter to try and prime the filter and I dont hear a thing. It looks like the new pump aint working neither....I swapped relays with the fog lamps and still nothin.....not sure what to do.....What fuse would this be on?:banghead:

I am absolutely terrible at trying to figure out wiring issues.

they get there power source up front by the fuel filter..did you plug that in?is the plug in pushed in all of the way?

If you are using the wiring harness that came with it, there is a fuse that would be in the engine compartment on the harness. Plus use dielectric grease on all fittings. (speaking from past experience.)

Check for error codes (P0230) Lift pump out of range...

Ok... The trigger power for the Raptor is straight from the ECM there is no other relay or fuse...

Beyond that Raptor should have its own fuse and relay. Check for power when the key is bumpped. If there is no power at the Yellow/White (YL/WT) wire at the ECM then the ECM is toast.

As for the fuel pump relay in the PDC thats the relay for the injection pump...

Do you have a test light? I would start at the pump and work up the to the ECM looking for power, or loose connections. Make sure both the power wire and the lift pump wire from the ECM are hot with the key in "bump". I would suspect its an issue with the power wire, but purely a hunch.

ok....I havent tried a voltmeter yet but using a testlight I have only checked the two wires going into the new lift pump......both show hot with ignition "on".When I "bump"the ignition one of them will lose power momentarily.....Does this sound right?...

That sounds right, I wonder if its your ground?Have you tried to bypass the installed wiring and run the pump straight off the battery?

If you're using the Raptor wiring harness, then it would be like mine.Mine didn't work one time. There is a white button on the connector whit all of the wires. (the button is in the center of the connector) Use a screwdriver and push the button in and remove and install the fuse. I did this and my system came back to life. I also put dielectric grease on every connection that dealt with the fuel system. Have had no problems since.

thanks....for the help everyone....it was a ground issue...I had the power and ground mounted to the posts in the fuse box under the hood.....checked the ground there and didnt check good....I'll have to clean both of those later. Anyway....hooked up to the battery instead and works just fine!....Purged the lines and she runs like a top...still gotta hook up my fuel press gauge though.

yeah ....I must have not been making good contact in the plug with my test light the first time.....and the second time it should have been obvious what was goin on.....I'm gettin rusty I guess...been 3 and a half years since turnin a wrench for a living. Thanks again.
