Is that all you get for 3 cylinder??? :lmao2::lmao: That what I get with 6 cylinder high idle and the exhaust brake... You don't want to see my pyrometer touch 1,000*F with the exhaust brake, and the grid heaters because everytime the grid heater turn on the coal would roll... :stuned:

Wow that is a lot more than I would've expected:stuned: I guess i need to get myself a scanguage to monitor that.

I've seen as high as 6-7 GPH worth of fuel being burned on a really cold morning like 0*F, 3 cylinder high idle, exhaust brake set and the grid heater draggin' the alternator hard and heavy... 6 cylinder high idle not so bad at about 2-3 GPH worth of burn rate but not creating as much heat and taking longer to hit the shutdown point... post-2-138698174051_thumb.jpg

    Its a beautiful sound aint it. I just got to hear mine kick inot 3 cyl for the first time about an hour ago.

    I'm watching these videos of 3 cylinder idle and I wanted to ask something about it. I don't have an EGT gauge so I'm not sure what temps I hit , but under 3 cyl or even 6 cyl idle, is it safe to assume the EGT's will not get to hot if I start it, let it go into one of the idles (whichever outside temp it will make it go to) and let it go until it reaches operating temperature and kicks off on it's own? I'm not talking about Prowelder's high idle fooler, i'm just talking the factory enabled option.
