man, this thing is AWESOME, so many different parameters can be shown, i found out from it that my TPS needed to be reset, so, i did that....also, for w/e reason, at idle, the MAP thing shows like 30, i don't know if that's good or bad...:confused

Nice job 2500,Is that the same one you have Michael? So with this setup, one doesn't need the other gauges, fp, trans temp, etc. Right? So the Scan II functions as a diagnostic & monitoring device?I did check out Michael's youtube vid w/ fuel milage data, 23.1 MPG, trip distance, fuel used, etc.Cool toys for big boys, :thumbsup Dave

The only gauge I know of that doesn't respond properly is the MAP... It should start at 14.7 PSIA and go up to 54.7 but for some reason it starts at about 28-30 and goes to 37.7 then stops... Now the MAP shows true on 2003 and up Cummins... :thud

I have had my scan gauge a week and I like it, not sure how everything works, or what it is for, but I am learning. The MPG gauge is no fun, I see the mpg and I take my foot off the go pedal :D

My overhead MPG is instant & right on in my pure stock truck... the mpg function is worthless. The average mpg is usefull. If I really want to get good average mpgs I keep the rpms below 2000 as much as possible. Shut off the cruise. Run it with my right foot, Never feed fuel to the truck if it will coast the desired speed, back off gradually as I crest hills. It's worth about 0.5 mpg. I've been able to coax this 4:10 truck to 18.6 on seasonable trips. If time is more important, I can drive more agressively & kiss that last mpg good bye.Russ

I have an early model Scangauge and love it. May upgrade to the newer one but frankly for the price (it was free) its hard to beat.

Well it would be rather difficult being that ScanGauge II is calculated flywheel horsepower and Dyno is rear wheel horsepower... There is several factors that vary the results... * Dual rear wheels Vs. Single rear wheels * Oversized tire or Unsized Tires * Tranission differences (Auto, 5 speed, 6 speed) * gear trian differences (3.55 / 4.10) On and on... It can only see what the ECM/PCM monitor... As for boost reading on the 98.5 to 2002 is incorrect and doesn't display properly... But the 03 and up model year Cummins show correcly... The voltage offset in our MAP sensors fouls the reading... But all other sensors work fine... (IAT Temp, Coolant temp, flow rate of fuel (GPH), Engine load, MPG, APPS sensor, MPH, RPM's, Voltage)

Very long and detailed installation! Plug it in the OBDII port and drive! Setting the unit up the way YOU want it takes 10x the time but well worth it.
