200,000

What; if any, maintenance should I do on MightyWhitey at or around 200k?? Sitting at 196,1xx now, and have a few trips lined up for the near future. I did my normal yearly maintenance a month ago prior to my NoDak trip.I've NEVER done a...................valve lash adjustment, fully bled the power steering, coolant/water pump change, injector change, radiator hose change-out, and prolly some more that I cannot think of right now. She's running good and getting good mileage.:2cents::thumb1:What say y'all??!!:pant:

You'll catch me for sure now. Mine's been parked for about 1 month now and only gotten fuel once in the month time. But I might catch you with the 1996 Doge Ram 1500 now... :kick:

I am still only at about 215,000 on my 01. Now that my commute is only about 5 miles I dont rack up the miles any more. I used to clear between 80-100 miles a day on average. Cant wait to move back to the country...

Ok guys, MightyWhitey rolled past 200,000 miles today. Here's the proof!!!

    Thanks.  Cut some future firewood and hauled it back to the house today;  so now she's sitting at 200,104.  Good day to do the wood thing……….single digits!!!

    201,709 pulling into the garage today.  These below 0 starts in the AM are killing mileage………………17.9mpg for the last tank…………filled up this morning before heading out to work.

    I rolled over  253,000 on Yabba on Jan 21, 2014 and 268,768 on Scooby on Jan 23, 2014 :thumb1:

    My 03 has 180,000 miles on it and I bought it used last year my mileage is at about 14.5 mpg so any ideas on helping out the mpg; should I have the injectors checked and the valves checked first also when changing the fuel filter it is hard to crank up could the line pump be getting weak, any and all ideas will help

    In order to get "good" mileage out of these trucks, you have to "drive" for good mileage.

     

    Put a raw egg under the throttle pedal, and try not to break it!!!! :cool:

     

    1.  Keep boost under 8psi...........5psi is better

    2.  Try to time stop and go lights so you never really stop

    3.  Air up your tires 

    4.  Keep your highway cruising speed below 2,000rpm............68mph on my truck

    5.  Don't go to extra wide or tall tires...........increase rotating mass and rolling resistance

    6.  Smarty Jr.

    7.  Make sure you don't have a dragging brake or two

    8.  No leveling or lift kits..............increase air drag

     

     

    When changing your fuel filter,  just bump the starter without trying to start your truck.  The lift pump will run for about 20-30 seconds and prime the system.  Then start your truck.  

     

    If you do have the OEM lift pump, it could be getting weak.  Check if you have the lift pump on the back of the fuel filter canister and then get back to this thread.
