there isn't enough ring here with my pieces to make a whole one. so i hope to find the missing ones someday. maybe ina few weeks i'll drop the pan and check for them again.

i'm replacing the "wave spring" i was hoping the missing pieces would turn up in the housing or in the pan but they are not. the clip the dealer promised me it was, was in fact not the correct one. so it's on order from cascade transmissions. 6.88 and a 2.$ gasket. all this for 10$ in parts. it's not as hard as i had thought it would be. the rear two piece driveline was HEAVY like OMG how is this that heavy.? the t-case is easy to unbolt and kinda on the heavy side. still not hard by any means though. then there was the OD housing... took bolts out. pulled some,. read the FSM, pulled some more. couldn't for the life of me get it off. thought maybe there was a c-clip i missed. or something.. Then my 10 year old goes dad can i try. sure as heck he pulls it right off. anyhow. it's not hard, but turning wrenches isn't fer everyone.

i'm now replacing all the seals and snap rights i can find. might as well do the U-joints in the drivelines as well. they are all stock and still good with 210K miles. but while i'm there.. why not.

That's interesting; No damage  and did you say the dealer admitted not using the correct snap ring?

Hope you find all the pieces

OD unit is simple to rebuild, think I had about 3-4 hours start to finish into replacing the OP shaft on my 02 when it snapped on me years ago " but I have a hoist and tall tranny jack as well which saves time" . Going together make sure the park pawl rod is in the right spot and doesn't get bound up on you, that may have been what was holding on when you came apart.

when i showed them what was broke they sold me a snap ring. it was not the correct one.

Thanks for the info Bill. i'll pay attention when i get it put back together.
