Well I've made it home for the summer and it's time to start tearing this thing apart. I will begin tomorrow, but yesterday I took it to the dyno. Laid down 503 / 1215. I was very pleased with the numbers, but the knocking is getting worse to it's time to take it apart.

  • IT RUNS!!!!! Video coming later. Barely any smoke, surprisingly.   This thing runs soooooo smooth. I only ran it for five minutes (Per Hamilton instructions.) But it's nice to know it's running and

Dnoed 537 hp. Did not get the 75 spooled until late though, and I only got to do one run

more area under the curve compared to previous?  What programmer setups?

Sounds like I need to send you the mach7's I've got in the cupboard. *tease* *tease*

7 smarty 9 TST.

Broke 400hp at 58mph (4th) and grew from there. I was trying to keep the soot out of their shop so I didn't floor it until it was too late.

No the owner was crying about it. Trust me I wanted to give her hell!

Nick, lets go buy a dyno. We could make so much money around here!

Yea I have often thought about that.

owner crying?  humm

I was looking at Dynos the other day.  I would want a water dyno, not an inertia one.  They could be built pretty easy out of an old Frac pump... At least, up to 2000 hp.

Mopar1973man.com dyno day.....

I am guessing with the 100's I only have enough fuel to get to 450ish.....humm

I have to wonder how much power is still on the table in the ports and intake. I wonder where those ports choke.  Given the tremendous increase in boost and fuel, I would expect more than 650 hp.

Have you considered a methanol fogging system?  Do those really help at these boost levels?

We all know the limit is the vp's fuel output. Ppumps have proven the head can flow enough air for more power.

Very true.  I come from the land of naturally aspirated performance, where we had to walk up hill both ways etc etc.

All I am wondering is how much a good port, polish, and log manifold would do in comparison.  There is a delta P across the port and valve.  At normal RPM levels, like my truck, probably very little... and mabe some power loss.  At your RPM level, that is a lot of swept volume to clear a very small space.  Just wondering if anybody has done port head vs non port head dyno numbers.

The good thing is with boost the speed of sound goes up as the temp and pressure of the air goes up, so true choking is unlikely.  Which is quite the opposite of a N.A engine however, I haven't run the numbers for a turbo.  Same with cam design.  Turbo cam design is way different than non.

I think having the intake milled off helps all modified trucks ..... but know trucks that have done over 1000hp without it.

TFaoro meant to ask ..... is there a manual you followed for engine rebuild that goes over specs etc

Rick Fox make over 3,000 ft-lbs on a stockish looking intake horn

John, I used a Cummins ISB book.

Had my dad drive it last night. He believes the driveshaft is out somehow. Hopefully get it balanced tomorrow.

Rolled over to 8K on the motor last night!

Ever had a seal this crooked actually seal for 6k miles?? The rubber was actually formed crooked from the heat and position.

When I installed the PS pump I must have hit it. This happened when the engine was rebuilt and a new PS pump went in.

Note: I had not touched the seal at this point. Just popped the center section out!

So what made you pull it out if it wasn't leaking ?

On your last dyno ...... What was your secondary turbo you were running ...... And what boost #'s.

when are you hitting the rollers with new injectors ?
