2001 Manual transmission wont go into gear
Hello, I've searched and can't find anything so I'm looking for some help. My 2001 5 speed will no longer shift into gear. The last few days while driving down the road, when in fourth or fifth gear, speeding up to lane change or for whatever reason the RPMs would jump 500 and then back to normal. Didn't seem like clutch was slipping or anything. Long story short it started doing it consistently more the other day on the way home, and now it won't shift into gear with the truck running. I can turn the truck off and it will shift into gear fine. The minute I fire it up it won't go into gear at all. I checked the fluid and its full. Truck has 260K on it. I have never touched the clutch/tranny and not sure if the PO did. All I've found researching is that possibly the pilot bearing went out? Any other tests? And to muddy the waters a little more... I have the edge juice with attitude. On the way home I would put it in stock , tow and mileage mode and the revving wouldn't happen, put the edge in 3, race or hot extreme mode and the revving would happen every time. Thanks!

Broke my AC Line by the lower radiator hose
Hi everyone, I was changing out my radiator yesterday and while taking off the lower radiator hose I accidentally, bull in a china shop sorta thing, bent my ac line. Bent it enough to crack it and it started leaking. It is leaking at the elbow right behind the compressor where it turns up to the hood. Is this the line I need to replace it? FOUR SEASONS Part # 56511 From Rockauto I searched the forums and couldn't come up with anything. I just don't want to order the wrong part. Thanks http://www.rockauto.com/getimage/getimage.php?imagekey=818191&imageurl=http%3A//www.rockauto.com/info/FourSeasons/56511.jpg

I need more Fuel PSI
Good to know. Thanks Michael! --- Update to the previous post... No factory fuel filter, just right to the VP. All fluids and filters will be getting changed soon. I'm going to call edge and get a new sending unit too because there isn't a snubber on it, I've read they are notorious for getting beat to death and sending false readings.

I need more Fuel PSI
What a great idea! Call the company that makes the product.:banghead: Brain hasn't left summer vacation mode. I guess my biggest concern was increasing the pressure to a pump that's been running that way for 90 k . Sounds like it will probably enjoy the increase in pressure. Thanks guysMike u can delete this useless thread if you wish.

I need more Fuel PSI
Hi guys I'm back from a nice summer vacation and also with a new to me truck. Living in the mountains I decided a four wheel drive should make life a bit easier than having to chain up my dually everytime I wanted to drive it somewhere. Anyways the new truck is in my signature line. I have lots of TLC and maintenance to do but wanted to start with the fuel psi first. The truck already has a Fass 150 installed. The edge monitor is showing psi of 12 and WOT it drops to 6-7 psi. I know there is a spring on the return side that can be stretched but I would honestly rather install one that was made for the purpose I'm after. My other pot stirring debate is that the VP 44 was replaced at 136,000 miles. The truck now has 230,xxx miles on it. Should I leave the psi alone because it already has 94,000 miles on it or start throwing more fuel to it. Kind of like "If it ain't broke don't fix it."

P1693 to pdone to coughing and puff of black smoke then white when warm...
Well, I finally went and had the codes pulled. (moved a couple of weeks ago and had not had time to get it in) NOTHING! That's right nothing came up. I even had the tech show me the pcm and ecm , no codes thrown. Truck still has the same symptoms. :banghead::banghead::banghead: Looking back I towed a heavy load of wood to the new house, started doing the vibrating choking thing with this load. I didn't have a good run at a hill and crawled up it. Tranny wasn't slipping but it wasn't happy when I got to the top, almost pegged the temp gauge. I don't know just throwing all info out there to figure this thing out. About the only good note I did get 22 miles to the gallon, empty, coming back from Utah a couple of weeks ago. I was only doing 60-65. That was nice!

P1693 to pdone to coughing and puff of black smoke then white when warm...
Well, I was going to take my truck in today to have the codes read because I had the p1693 companion code. To review, I started another thread about my truck choking out on the highway, where I could power through it or back off and it would go away. Then my batteries died and after installing the new ones the truck seemed to run great! Now to my new issue... Towed my rock truck to an event this weekend and the truck only "choked" a little on the way up. Coming back I had to drag my buddies trailer back. 40 foot gooseneck with two buggies on it. I'm guessing 16,000 pounds. Truck was running great, went to lay into the throttle going up a hill and holy cow I thought my truck was going to shake itself in half and break apart. Same symptons as before, I could power through it or lay off the throttle and it would go away. This happened in OD and out of OD. So I took it easy the rest of the way home because everytime I would get into the throttle this shaking, choking, thing would happen. Well, made it back to town and after unhooking decided to do the key trick. I got a pdone no more p1693. ( maybe my new batteries had something to do with this.) I fired up the truck and then stomped the pedal, in park, to hear my exhaust bounce of my buddies concrete wall. about 1500 RPMS it went pah, pah, choke, stutter, vroom. Sorry no other way to explain it. Did it a couple of more times and the same thing happened. I also noticed when this happened I would get a puff of black smoke followed by white smoke. If I steadily pressed the accelerator pedal it wouldn't miss a beat and rev all the way to 3K with no issues. But, as soon as I stomped it hard it would choke and do all the other stuff as it was in the 1500rpm range. I started the truck this morning and tried to repeat the problem and coudn't get it to repeat the problem. Got to work and tried it after the truck warmed up and the symptoms were there again, stomp the pedal, choking, cough, pah pah, vrroom, black smoke then white smoke and still showing a pdone code. Help!!!! Sorry for the long post but don't know how else to describe it. So what do you think is happening or worst yet happened?

Choking at highway speeds
Good to know it's normal, I always thought something was wrong. Not slipping and haven't upgraded the valve body or TQ. Unfortunately, after putting a whole bunch of stuff, see sig, on it I am going to have to sell it. My wife and I moved to the mountains and I am going to need a 4x4. Thanks for the responses! --- Update to the previous post... Yes they were. It was the weirdest thing. The truck took an extra second to fire up on Wednesday. Drove it on Friday estarted up normal. Hopped in it on Sunday and would barely turn over. I've never had batteries just up and go that fast. Oh well, two new batteries and the truck is running awesome. Still going to get the codes read.

Choking at highway speeds
Haven't taken it to the shop yet. But, the batteries decided to go blah on me Sunday morning. Thank God it happened in the driveway at home! Put in two new batteries, reset the apps, drove to the mountain and it drove like a new truck. No choking out or stuttering. Still jumping 100 rpms at 35 and 45 in OD and out of OD. Might be my torque convertor, I don't know. I'm just happy my truck wasn't acting like it has been the last couple of weeks.

common - u serious ?
I know the feeling, my truck has done it for the last year. Cruising down the road or just driving down the city streets it will just all of a sudden "buck" no change in RPM, fuel pressure or anything. Scares the heck out of ya. I have reset my APPS and it still does it. Only seems to happen every hundred miles.:banghead::banghead::banghead: I'm about done with this truck...

Choking at highway speeds
The only thing I did to the wiring harness is put an APPS tap into it. I even pulled it apart and checked it to make sure I got a good connection. It is and I have left it alone. It worked for about 1 month and then the issue came back. (Jumping about 100 rpms when cruising down the road at 45. Annoying as he!!) This I don't think is related to my issue. Maybe it is... My CEL has never come on.
