  1. tuning is stock and fuel maps are all out of wack, it is off to the computer geeks to be flashed, intake should be fine the cam has such overlap that the vacuum signal is weak it wants to die when you stab the brakes. well find out when the dyno results are in.
  2. the goat lives, sounds great too has really rough idle and the computer claimes every cylinder is missing. the map sensor is out of range from lack of vacuum but a quick rap of the throttle dump the clutch and hold on. i wish i could up load the exhaust sound but my computer skills suck oh well. he picked up car smiling from ear to ear and its on to the next project.
  3. glad you got your toy on the road and concider the low power a base line, sttart hot rodding the new truck and you will realize the advantage of newer technology
  4. you have my sympothy brother it sucks to see your dad go, i can relate i was diagnosed with cancer at 15 yr old after multiple surgerys and chemo also looking at the same 4 walls of a hospital for 2 years ive been in remission for 12 years and if my wife ever gets knocked up i can look her dead in the eyes and declare im not the daddy.
  5. sorry man i hate electrical problems its always a minor problem that take a week of diagnosis and i cant justify the nick in the wire, buried under the dash in the massive loom of wires caused by the c/b radio the guy around the corner hooked up for you for a 6 pack. give me a rod hung out the side of the eng. anyday.
  6. well they all have problems i think, you just have to justify repairs with usage, my personal opinion the engine is great, the trans is marginal 6 speed or auto, and the truck falls apart. but a mill. miles is not unresonable so its a long term investment. my truck is the only vehicle i wont sell and i go through a lot of them.
  7. did they let it getgood and hot on the break out box?
  8. wish i had a 6 speed stick in the center of my floor:thumb1:
  9. this is sacraligious not to have any chevy post even though its a dodge site, so a seebee brought in a 05 gto 6 speed 6.0l, this is a sweet car got to perform a shake down before mods start it will scoot especially with trac control off:ahhh:. so 40 thousand miles absolutly no problems and he drops it off with over $4000.00 worth of hot rod parts in the trunk and asks can you install all this by fri. so it can be sent to the chassis dyno. i inspect the new trick flow cyl heads and lunati cam, injectors, fuel pumps, rockers, under-drive pulleys, yad yad. and say yea $1400.00 labor plus misc. parts thinking he would at least twitch a little or somethin. he hands me the keys and said make it happen. sometimes my job is fun so got it all tore down today and will start building it up tommorrow, going to be a late night. hope to see at least 550 hp from the dyno, hope he realizes hes not going to drive to the dyno. or run the risk of melting a piston:banghead: but i will explain before he departs from the shop. so thats a day in the life of koyote auto and the gm section is no longer empty:tongue: we are pleased!!!
  10. put a extension tube on my a/c drain about a month ago, same problem pass floor always wet mine dried right up it wasent clogged just blew back in mine drips alot which is good because my wise uncle gave me one of those catch lines that has sold more a/c jobs than i can remember and now i will share it with yall (YOU CANT BE COOL WHEN YOUR SWEATING)
  11. i agree to the sock clog in the tank, we did a friends truck recently where he had to stay over 1/2 tank or the truck would stall and if he hammered on it the fuel pressure would drop to nothing and the truck would stall he would leave truck off for a few min. then fire and go again (this is with a full fass system) so i dropped tank and found the pre-screen was clogged to the bowl that houses the pick-up and the sock itself was clogged. i could not get a new pick-up assembly from dodge because it was superseeded with the fuel pump assembly retrofit this was dodges answer to cummins sorry lift pumps so we tore out the pre-screens and replaced the sock. spun on some new fass filters and reinstalled tank that truck ran great after these repairs. i might also note that he delivered fuel for a living so the fuel in his truck was often unfiltered but the cost was great:thumbup2:
  12. these must be full fledge work trucks with such accurate logs, i fill by the its at a quarter tank lets fill up and then add a quart of atf if my wife takes the truck/ which is pretty often/ she will say does the truck need gas and i respond no, she says ill put gas in it if i get low and i respond please dont very calmly and then it dawns on her and she pops off i mean diesel !!! i am training her her well:thumb1:
  13. a.c.e. auto computer exchange these guys ripped me off 3 times i sent in my ecm no repairs made however they did make the case look pretty every time. couldentrepair the problem after telling me it wasent the ecm and replacing alot of uneccessary parts i took it to the dealer they said ecm bad put on a new dodge ecm and its been perfect for 5 months. the only good that come from it is i got a timbo app installed and fuel milage is up. these guys would not refund my money and there a rip off sold me an ecm they did not have in stock attempted to rebuild mine 3 times and still the same problems. they were out of florida beware!!!
  14. if youve got a bad diode track in the alternator it will still charge and might show a normal voltage reading but the alt. could be creating some really wild a.c. current that will feed through the whole truck and cause all kind of wierd problems, this cannot be checked with a simple multi-meter and the geniuses at the parts store might not catch it either, disconnect alt. wiring clear codes and run truck off batteries see if it starts acting normal and then replace alt.--- or i could be way off but easy to check and wouldent be the first time for me.
  15. the diff is the lug nuts i think the alloy wheels have a large shank that the metal tangs on the hubcap fit too
  16. just towed a mustang from mobile, al. to gulfport,ms. about a hour ago not real dirty but i try to keep it that way sorry pic is dark but its midnight here
  17. hopfully not an internal short my new ecm is the result of me finding this forum so i know first hand the impending financial doom of a ecm replacment, ive had my truck in working order several months now and still too gun shy to reinstall mt edge set up for risk of damaging the replacment ecm. ---------- Post added at 11:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:35 PM ---------- hey look there post number 20 sweet i reached puberty on your web sight:thumbup2:
  18. wow i could never write a diagram that pretty on my napkins

  20. hope you kept the napkin with the magic marker wiring diagram scribbled on it:lol:
  21. i had this problem id hit the highs and return to no lows, replaced the relay in the pdm under hood and never had a problem again but i have seen a many modules with burned out contacts, i got lucky with just the relay though
  22. ahhh i hate belt dressing, people coat there cracked up stretched out belts in this crap and then come ask if ill install a new belt, its like trying to wrap a belt around a glue type rat trap, dont do it a belt is not that expensive!!!
  23. both had extremly hard and split gaskets long term heat exposure i guess, dont think oil type is a factor at all but i do recommend rotella with lucas additive ive rebuilt these motors with major milage and this oil diet and still seen factory crosshatch in the cyl. bores so im sold
  24. if i could convince someone to give me 20 hrs on the pushrod cover i could take the rest of the week off. but until then 5 hr. flag time plus parts, very simple and straight forward job. only done 2 in the last three years they dont leak that often sorry for your luck man.
