Water leaking between body panels
I know this is going to sound weird but..... There is water leaking out between the panels where they are welded together. It is dripping out right there where those 4 pieces of metal are laying on each other. This is directly under the passenger seat. Where the heck is the water coming from??? The only thing that makes sense is the AC but not really..... It does not have any coolant in it.... I didn't wash the truck, it had not rained, etc etc.... Stumped in San Diego.

Bouncing Around
I did a bit of shopping around when I needed shocks (13 or 14 years ago). there were not a lot of choices out there for the 2x4 truck. I bought Bilsteins because that was about all I could find & they had a good warranty. well........... around 2016 or so, they were riding like crap again (however its hard to tell, because this truck has never rode good, there is bad, worse & crappy) & I contacted Bilstein about their warranty. they threw up EVERY road block they could find to not have to give me new shocks. I bought another pair because I was in a time crunch, but I will NEVER buy another Bilstein again. Not necessarily because of the product, but mostly because of the shitty service I got from them when I called. BTW, check for extended length on the Bilsteins if you get them, the replacements that they say "fits" my truck......... does not. the shock does not have enough extension & bottoms out before it hits the bump stop. The truck is starting to ride 'worse' so 'crappy' is right behind & Im going to need new shocks again. Id love to hear what you 2x4 owners have ended up using. the 4x4 guys have choices. & BTW, one of the guys that works for me has a 2005 4x4, & just put some Bilsteins on his truck & loves the way it rides now. that said.............. his old ones were junk........... anything would have been better.

Website building for a small business
FWIW, I have used Homestead for years. I started my site a long time ago as a way to keep my family in touch with what we were doing & to update what I was doing with projects. So easy even a cave man could do it.......... www.xtrmbowties.com Bob

'Rock Solid' Ram Truck Steering!
I did it years ago when they first came out. It made NO difference on my truck. the issues I was having was for another reason & rather than actually look to figure out what was going on, I just did it.............. Im not saying it does not work for its intended use, Im saying, changing the oil to fix a flat tire is a dumb idea. Sometimes I need to slow down & think about stuff before I do it. LOL. Bob

Nu Finish
ENTIRELY too long. It was not really 80 steps, but it sure did feel like it when I was done. wash Car with Dawn Clay entire car to get all of the gunk out of the paint. wash car again put "wax" on put "wax sealer/super charger/whatever" on put clear gloss coat super shiner stuff on detail plastic & rubber detail tires, shocks & other stuff you can see (and not see). clean & detail the interior... ... ... took an entire weekend. BUT DAMM did the car look good. Probably the best it ever looked. one day of crappy weather............ all for nothing.... Well, not really, when you have it all cleaned up & sealed up good, it cleans up nice with the quick detailer. The car never saw water & a sponge after that.

Nu Finish
FWIW, I have been using Zaino Brothers products for about 10 years now. Ive gotten lazy in the last 5 or more years, so all I use is the Z-AIO, when I have some extra cash laying around the Z6 quick detailer & when they need it, the clay to pull all of the crud out of the paint (but any one will do the same thing, its all about the elbow grease). http://www.zainostore.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=Z&Product_Code=Z-AIO&Category_Code= when I had my black Camaro, I did the 80 step, uber nice show shine deal & WOW did it make the car beautiful!!

Can you stop battery corrosion?
FWIW, I have used the red battery spray stuff from the parts store for years & have never had any issues with corrosion. I also put the felt pads under the terminals. do they do anything................ I have no idea, but I have 10 batteries in various vehicles & have never had an issue. but I also take care of mine too. every time I open the hood I wipe the tops off & every once in a while I clean them off & spray them again with that red stuff.

Everyone post a picture of your truck!
I tried the aerosol stuff on a different project & it did not work worth a beans. Like you said, good for a minute, then it goes to pot.

Everyone post a picture of your truck!
Im not 100% convinced that its just sunshine. My 99 just started doing it on the roof about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago & when I washed it last weekend, there is a spot on the hood that is now doing it. My truck has been in the sun every day since 1999. I live in San Diego................ 2 clouds in a row constitutes a "weather event". ROFLOL. I dont know for certain, I have not been that interested to look into it................... but, my understanding is that mid to late 90's is when most of the mfg's went over to a water based pain with a different kind of clear coat. based on what Ive observed, this is a clear coat issue. Ive always wanted to sand down the clear coat & spray it with something good to test my theory, but ........ that ship has sailed @ this point. LOL.

Trailer Tire pressure sensors
FWIW, I did some shopping around & spec comparison. the $70 to $100 ones seem to be VERY hit & miss when your trying to look @ Trailer tires. the $300 to $500 ones seem to be higher quality & they either dont need a repeater or come with it. I have not pulled the trigger on this yet, Im going to do some looking around & see if maybe I can find one on the RV sites. I will probably go for the higher end ones, I dont want to have the headache of the cheaper ones maybe not working. My towing season is not going to start until Oct anyway so I have time. Hmmmmmmmmmm I wonder how well that works? I might have another use for that...... thanks Bob

Bumper plug
They are made to look like Parachutes. A friend of mine makes them to help finance his race car habit. the part in the middle is a Billet tow rope hook (because cast is juuuuuuuuuuust not good enough. LOL). fast enough, but does not have enough torque. ;) No it has a truck engine in it, Hemi's are for race cars. LOL. I dont remember exactly, but entirely too much. they charge you by the GVW (as I would imagine most states do). the thing is with Kalipornia, EVERY vehicle with a bed is considered a "commercial vehicle", regardless of how its used or owned. its ANOTHER money grab by the assholes up in Sacramento.......... on the plus side I can legally part in commercial zones & there is nothing the meter maids can do about it........... (Even though I have never done it, because Im sure I would get a ticket, & have to spend my time fighting it).

Electrical problem after replacing drivers fender
The only thing that makes sense is that the PDC is on that fender well, maybe a pinched wire under it???? does/did the truck have an alarm in it??? Bob

ABS/Brake lights on
FWIW, I have been able to lock up the breaks on my truck since it was new. the ABS just pisses me off, because it relieves pressure for a second, then if you keep pushing on the brakes it locks them up. I flat spotted 2 sets of tires because of this (early on in its life). I learned that I cant go from a bike to the truck & expect them to stop the same. LOL. BTW, Im with you on the warped rotor thing. I have had warped rotors on this truck & know what they feel like. this is MUCH higher frequency & not speed dependent. It just seems super strange that its started happening since I put in the new PS pump. I might stick the old one back in just to see if it goes away, but that sure is a heck of a lot of work, to test a theory........ Bob

Bumper plug
The ones off of eBay that gsp7 found got in this weekend. The 2 outside ones were a bear to get in but the middle one was just right. Looks better now that it's not nekid. Plus she got a bath this weekend. :). Bob

ABS/Brake lights on
@Greenlee, I just replaced my Power steering pump (@ the same time as my Vacuum pump) and I swear since I have replaced the pump if I get even a little bit aggressive with the brake peddle it seems like the ABS is going on. Mind you mine is a 99 & it does have Rear ABS, so Im not ruling out that there is an ABS issue, but................. the only thing I have changed is the pump...... Bob

Bumper plug
sigh................. It just goes to show how much I suck @ the Interwebs..................... LOL. thank you @GSP7 that is what Im after. $20 seems kind of steep for plugs, but, Im kinda stupid anyway so why not. LOL. FWIW, they are black rubber. they have straight shanks on them because the hole is solid, so when you put the ball in there & tighten the nut you dont just crush the bumper. so you cant use a plug that is flanged. I will take a picture of it later, for those that even kind of care. EDIT: I forgot to take a picture of it last night, but there is nothing special. its a rubber plug that the cross section looks like a T. the part that goes down into the bumper is about 3/4" long. HTH's. thanks again Bob

Bumper plug
well.......... they would hose you twice, because the 2 outer ones are a different size than the inner one. LOL. Bob

Additional Fuel Tank
I'm looking for 30 ish gallons, but yeah... Should get bolted down.
-
Additional Fuel Tank
Shoot........ probably 2 years maybe 3.

Additional Fuel Tank
I went through 40 Gallons of fuel the last time we went out to the desert & we were 2 rides short of a full weekend......... I need to carry it all in with me or its 3+ hours to go & get fuel............ Also the Highway patrol can give you grief if your "transporting fuel" & dont have the correct permits/license, so keeping it on the DL is a plus for me. Im kind of pushing it as it is with 6 fuel jugs in the back of the truck. IIRC 50 gallons, is the magic number....... @Ibmobile, the one that we had worked great for a little while..............
