  1. wondering if anyone has played around with the pressure control valve and overflow restriction on they're VE pump if so how many turns was it adjusted e.g. internal pump pressure increased ? and what effects did it have ? thanks guys hope to hear back
  2. Not to sure about what year fits what, but i can tell you my box has 4 spacer tabs only on the front half of the box portion by the cab. They look to be about 2"x2"x6" not very thick maybe 1/8" (i'll grab the tape once the rain stops) and i can't see why you couldn't drop a 1/2T bed on it, hell I'm almost done putting a 05 GMC sierra 1500 cab on my 92' W250 fits like a glove if you got enough time to help it along ;)
  3. hey guys been a while, been hard at work on the rig she's changed quite a bit (pics soon) and i'm starting to have fun with the wiring now i was wondering if anyone has done a homemade circuit-board speedo controller or if one is sold after market ?
  4. yes i think that did help i assume i'm looking at the (89-93) 250HD diesel section for my specs, just too make sure
  5. so i was poking around under the truck last month and noticed that my front axle, u-joints, and ball joints, are getting pretty worn (especially the front axle bearings, about !/32" play) i was wondering if anyone could tell me wear to find the axle # so i can get parts or, better yet NAPA parts # ? thanks guys
  6. finally got the other pics with the switches in them one (on the gas peddle) is a momentary push toggle, and the other is a two position 3 way toggle switch (need to get a 3 position three way switch so i can have a off setting as well)
  7. lol I'll assume your refereeing to the sound and not a mechanical turbo condition ? (never heard of anything called turbo wheeze:shrug:) and i need a nick name lmao i'm sure a few ppl would get a kick out of a nick name like that :lol:also for those of you that have watched the video that little gauge i show as i'm coming to the stop sign at the hill, is a vacuum gauge i installed into my vacuum line so i can see how much vacuum my power brake booster is using
  8. i have the stock intercooled model turbo and with the fuel turned up at full throttle it pumps out about 24 to 25psi. i have a hx40 i'm waiting to put on it as well i'm going to change the exhaust manifold before i install it though seeing as how it is starting to leak (probably starting to crack as well) i also have a set of 7inch running board exhaust pipes i rolled up out of some 14ga steel just need to weld the steps on them and then i can bolt them on, i probably going to do a 7in turbo back just because i can --- Update to the previous post... o ya here's a link to a vid i made with the blow off valve sound for all to enjoy
  9. sorry my bad i guess it's it's more of a blow off valve i have a none wastegate HC1 turbo, the blow off dumps boost when the throttle is at idle so if u floor it then let off it open and drops the turbo pressure by 7psi instantly (kinda like a gas car with a turbo) and i have turned the pump up a bit don't want to get it to the point where it runs away though. thinking of making a fuel pin for it out of some A2 drill rod just need to see my friends at the machine shop get around to that one of these days
  10. the main reason i put this on is to eliminate boost for when i have my smoke mod, i'm going to make a solenoid to push the fuel pin all the way down to the "full boost position" while the wastegate solenoid is open to trick the pump and really roll some coal (when i want). don't want to smoke everyone out every time i take off from a stop i think i need another wastegate solenoid to get my 0-1psi goal though seeing as how it holds at 17psi right now at full throttle. and it definitely helps with the turbo bark it spools down a little slower as-well with the reduced psi on the inlet side
  11. i haven't put a pressure switch in yet but it has a "0" throttle switch and a manual bypass switch. so if your at any psi and let the throttle go to idle it opens, or if u have it on manual it will hold open around 17psi max instead of 24psi max. i'm hoping to get some sort of on the fly adjustable pressure switch though, but for now it sounds bad ___ a couple diesel guys gave me confused looks when they were driving beside me and herd it lmao
  12. here's some pics of a wastegate i made for my truck i'll have some pictures of how the switches work soon (got too dark out for camera) in total i think it cost around $130 cdn. Also this is the start of my smoke mod as well (one half anyways) there will be more to come!
  13. well it's finally got it's skin, still need to finish up some odds and ends, wood paneling and such but it's getting there
  14. i've never seen strong considerations of the stuff 3% max, dieselautopower made a good point about the affects it may have on the aluminum pistons (extreme oxidation) . probably not worth the power u'd b able to get from it unless you feel like doing a rebuild each time
  15. not so good at that dancing thing, probably not going to give it a shot either here's another set of teasers for ya all to look at hopefully this thing will be done tomorrow
  16. i was thinking of mixing it around 75% water 25% methanol, or perhaps H2O2 (@3%usp) ? http://forum.mopar1973man.com/showthread.php/2281-H2O2-instead-of-meth-water i would love to hear some ideas and theories about this
  17. here's a site that has a couple different kits with explanations about each one http://www.xtremediesel.com/methanolinjection_1.aspx , i'm thinking about installing a meth/water set up on my truck with the exception that i'm making it from a fuel injection system off a Chevy venture. you may also want to consider putting a post up in the vendors section of the site as well http://forum.mopar1973man.com/forumdisplay.php/67-Vendors-amp-Dealers
  18. So it turns out that after 18yrs the silicon on the ECM had dried to the point of cracking, upon further inspection (removal of old silicon) i found that about 45% of the board had carrode and/or delaminated! probably something to do with extreme hot/cold weather and road salt Anyways it turns out nothing was shorting out, it just wasn't getting a single to function e.g. gauges, alt, O.D, ect. As for the dash i have a couple of teasers for all you boys and girls to look at, a pictures worth a thousand words and i don't feel like typing that much
  19. if there concerned about smog (let's pretend we don't know that it helps with diesel combustion) wouldn't outboard two 2 stroke reduce this since it's suppose to be "easier on the environment" most outboard exhaust goes under the surface of the water witch is why it has to conform to certain specs, compared to snowmobile 2 stroke oil (probably better anti gel properties in snowmobile 2 stroke)
  20. that's weird if u look at the VE pump manual in the download section page #34 it calls it the "Cold-start accelerator" when i first saw it on my truck however i thought for sure it was a mechanical fuel shut off, but i can tell u it doesn't shut my truck down unless something is disengaged inside that connects to it (highly doubt it) maybe it's something to do with tazs' pump ?????
  21. i noticed on that picture it has a "mechanical" fuel shut off, but according to the bosch VE pump manual that is a mechanical retarding device for the pump, i activated it on my truck by hand and it did not shut off barely changed idle noise. so if you guys are looking for the old pull style shut off don't wast your time running a linkage for nothing
  22. might be time to update that link lol
  23. just an idea to throw out there but wouldn't u be able to take the shaft a machine shop and get a groove cut for a snap ring ? maybe c clip ?
  24. 92' w250 4x4 12v (350,347km) 9,000km old VE pump
  25. well done i like how organized and easy that was to understand, nice to know that this forum has that info now as-well. not to many people would tare their trainy apart to make a writeup on how to fix it (although i guess it paid off for you seeing as how it was loose) keep up the great work i love stuff like this:thumb1:
