Dash
Well I have my dashboard patched. I use the Goop again. I worked it in the crack with a razor blade.Let it set up overnight. Then I used my dremel with a soft nylon brush to remove the excess goop off the dash.I drilled through the end of the crack on the front side of the dash to stop it from cracking any farther.I then used a dental burr ( same one I used on my fender ) to open the crack up some but not go all the way through.I used my finger to fill the crack up, and a little above. Then used my razor blade to level it off, and the dremel to smooth and remove the excess on the last part of the crack - well its a break actually.Smoothed it off and then I put a coating of clear pvc pipe glue over the top to add a little more strength, and try to make it acceptable to look at.I will try to get a picture tomorow to add to this post.I know it is not as good as the factory but considering it will be under a cover for the dash it should be ok. The dash now has it's solidity like it wasn't broke at least. Some day you get the bear, and some day the bear gets you. This time I am just trying to recover from seeing my baby with a broken part :banghead:

Tattoo Removal
Well after 58 years of looking at the same stupid gang crap on my arm I decided it was time to not look at them no more.To many questions about them here in the bible belt. I just feel like I have dishonored myself.I now know how a bug feels when it gets zapped to death, and smell the same thing too.Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

made a convert today
Today when the wife and I were at wally world.I see this nice looking 2002 ram diesel, and a guy loading groceries. So I struck up a conversation.Told him how nice his truck looked, and he said it should I just got it out of the shop a tree fell on the back and it got repaired. He said he had 81,000 miles on it. So I struck up a conversation about the vp44 and told him everything I knew and how I just replaced mine.Talked about two cycle oil and all those that run it and all the posts I have read.He asked me if I would go with him to show him the oil to use, and I did and he bought a gallon. Told him to add one ounce of oil to one gallon of fuel that simple. So he said he would be running it from now on instead of replacing parts, and said he would do research on line about it. Told him how to find this site.Well Kiss of EPA I just help save one dodge diesel truck from vp44 failure.

Turbo cool down
I think these opinions are really great, and thats what I love about this site.sharing information never cost anything from anyone. Learning from shared information benefits everyone, except those in bussiness that only care about their bank account.I would like to see someones home made timer project and maybee I could design a circuit board that could be shared on the net. Anyone have a schematic they want to share?

Turbo cool down
I'm looking for opinions! When I head to the last section of road to my house there is about a mile of slightly down hill road.So I have been down shifting my truck into lower gears and letting it slow down graduallyMy thinking -- even though I have no jake brakes or the such. My thinking is that the down shifting will allow time for the turbo to cool down and prevent bearing damage from the left over heat that has been built up.Any opinions on that?

Buyer Beware!
Well at least I know I am not alone. Thanks for the information. The cracks hurt! my baby is getting old like me Boo HOooo!Well I ordered a dash cover late yeah I know, and I hope it doesn't look like a cheap wig on a poor mans head. You know the ones that look like a shag hair dooo.supposed to resembe brushed suede leather. Hope they don't mean like brushed up against a rough wall.

Buyer Beware!
Well I had recently sent email to the armorall company asking if their product would make my dash crack. They answered and told me no.So like a stupid moron I accepted what they said. Now one week later I walk out and my dash is broke all the way from the window to the front of the dash.So I listend to a bunch of liars. Now my dash is a eyesore. I wonder if a dash replacement is available, and how much it would cost. HMmmmm!

fog lights
Wow just came back from my first test drive with my high beams and fog lights at the same time.Super Great! living way out in the country it sure helps see the road in front and to the sides at night. Now it pisses me off that they had them turn off on high. I know it might save me from an accident now.So I hope the little mod I found to the relay helps someone
-
fog lights
This was the easiest job I have ever done! Please look at the picture. I removed the relay cover and diagnosed how it works. The only thing happening is the power to the relay is turned on or off. So instead of making a jumper I just took my pointed nose pliars and squeezed the middle contact down to hold the relay in a on position, tested it. Put the cover back on the relay volla i'm done

fog lights
Does anyone know how to have my fog lights stay on with my high beams.

My decision
Because I live in a state that we don't do smog checks.I have decided to run two cycle oil in my gasser. If nothing else it will lube the injectors, and the valve stems on the intake for sure, and maybee some around the exhaust. It will lube the upper rings in the engine for sure, and I don't know about the injection system but I am sure there will be something that gets lubed in there. So that is my opinion. As for now i am doing 1/2 ounce per gallon. Don't whine and say I'm wasting my money, or I will tell you don't leave tips when you go out to eat.So far it seems to quieten the engine down some, maybee my imagination. Time will tell about this adventure. I do know it never hurt any of my two cycle engines.
