  1. Sounds like a rat ate the wire somewhere
  2. Well I pulled my cover off just to replace the vp44, that was the easiest part.Braze it up, weld it up, whatever!Snot hard to remove.
  3. I continually am looking for information on my truck, and trying to make it last as long as I can. I am retired with a limited income, so I do all I can to survive. I now know after finding this forum, and reading stuff on others that mostly it is all about politics and others things like clean air. Those in a position for the government don't give a dam about how long a truck lasts, and most likley would like to see them off the road. Here is a interesting link http://alternativefuels.about.com/od/thedifferenttypes/a/ulsd.htm Read between the lines. They are telling you to get rid of that old piece of crap your driving, and go in debt, and buy our new clean air machines. To many times I have seen this happen in my life, and then they just merley say oh well, we have newer better faster cleaner ones now. Pure B.S. The link basicly says lubrication lubrication that is what will save your engine. Well sorry people but I for one am going to be a ahole and put a little smog in the air more then the new clean machines. However consider that I drive around 1000 miles a year ( guessing now ) One truck left idleing over night in a truck stop will put a whole lot more in the air then what I am doing buy adding two cycle oil to my fuel in a lot of years, and no one ******* about that. End of my Rant.
  4. So by the standards they use, probable cause is exempt because you drive a diesel powered truck!I remember when they just quit selling red dyed fuel in California years ago and you can only get it from dealers that deliver the stuff. When that happened I was really lacking in knowledge to understand what they were even doing.I wonder how many diesel powered cars, and vans run red dyed fuel around the country, and if they ever stop and check them or just assume they don't use it.HMmmmmm
  5. I was thinking! Now I may be wrong! but It seems to me that I remember a few years back that the color of diesel fuel was kind of green. Now does anyone else remember that or was it just a few stations that had fuel that was a odd color, or was it because of the higher sulpher in the fuel back then.It seemed that it was mostly in new mexico and Oklahoma at the time. But I never drove to other states so I really don't know just a curios thought.
  6. Well I just finished installing mine! It's not hard if you have time and tools, and are mechanicaly inclined.I wish I has know about two cycle oil in my fuel before i found this site. Would have been much cheaper.Like they say---- been there ---- done that. I wish you well
  7. Well they can try to fine me for something I didn't do. I don't see how that would last in a court. So is it ilegal to modify your own product! Millions of harleys are running around with illegal pipes, and the law turns a blind eye.If they ever stop me and want permision to check i will say no even if im doing nothing wrong.I hate the government and everything in it.If adding two cycle oil to my fuel is ilegal then so is all the stuff they sell to add, including the stuff for cars.No differnence. Let them try to do something I would consider that a threat against me and I know what the laws are for self defense.End of my ranting
  8. Well now would you let them under your hood? Not without a search warrant!I would just say leave me alone and talk to my lawyer Ha HaWonder what they would say when the see blue diesel fuel?
  9. I have heard stories about peopl putting a stick in your tank to check for red dyed fuel.So last night I was out by the truck and had a small stick and decided to see if someone could put a stick down inside to the fuel level. It can't be done on my truck. However I did go get a flexable piece of plastic line and it will go down to the fuel, but there is not enough on the line to tell.So that would tell me if they do poke your tank they have to use a tube and collect a sample of fuel.No Stick! Truth in doing.
  10. We used that stuff at work, it is very dangerous.just drop it on wood and pow instant fire.Don't get any on you
  11. Here are some pictures of how I connected my fuel gauge to my 2002I connected it to the scharder valve on the vp44 and tightend it well.
  12. I don't think I have mentioned that the wife and I live in the area where were surrounded by farm land.Basicly they raise wheat and cotton here. So when they harvest I'm there with a five gallon bucket and get fresh wheat from the field. Like right behind my house about 150 feet.Today I dug out the wheat grinder, and ground some wheat into flour. Now it's in the bread machine and we will be having fresh home made wheat bread toast and jelly with breakfast. If you have never ate wheat bread from fresh ground wheat, and made at home, then you have never ate good bread.Thats my post for today:drool:

  14. So you say coming down hill stops the fuel flow!I made a test, went down our road made fuel pressure checks, then came down a hill and down shifted to second gear.I thought the fuel pressure would climb. Well it did but very short, then it dropped down a couple pounds like i was giving it throttle.shifted up and pressure went up gave it throttle and pressure drops back to normal driving.

I hope everyone had a great day today. My family went to a small town near us in ok. The town is called medicine park. Very small and pleasent place. They have a small river running through the middle, and lots of arts fest stuff. The volunteer fire dept had a barbecue with barbecued pork. Donations for food. I gave them $30 for lunch for six people. Lots of food and music and freindly folks. Got to talking to the police chief and we ended up talking and showing each others guns.Good people there and already planning on going back next year. Grandkids liked going on paddle boats up and down the river.Lots of live music and lots of bikers came on a ride for fun and food.Well now thats my saturday and the weather was perfect, like 80 degrees.Hope yours was super also.
  16. Well here is some more intersting reading about diesel fuel.with pictures too! Changes_In_Diesel_Fuel.pdf
  17. Ok time for another dumb question!Has anyone ever put lift pumps in parallel and run them.I was just wondering how they would perform as far as pressure and volume
  18. Well I just got some delo 400 from wally world I think theyre both good oil
  19. What brand oil do you use, it is doing a super job
  20. Did you just rebuild it? man that is clean inside.I think that is just normal oil for lubrication of the top of the valve area
  21. Now the question is! at what temperature is the cylnder inside while burning? Is it hot enough to burn everything?I don't know, however some left over oil that lubricates the upper cylnder area is ok with me.
  22. check this link to read about diesel fuel ignition http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/fuels-ignition-temperatures-d_171.html
  23. Who makes the differnt two cycle oils? Here is a excell list to read. TC-W3-2010.xls
  24. Ok so is there antigel in two cycle oil? this is for gas!I didn't print the lable. look at the picture and read what it says. It says antigel formulation will not separate out or clog injector screens.HMmmmmmmmmmmmmm
