- Oil Rant
Ok! today I got a phone call from LE Engineers. They make custom oil, grease, and other things like fuel additives We had a very nice phone chat and I explained to him that I had used their some of their products for like 20 years. Mainly our company used the grease because we had such a high wear rate on our equiptment. Their grease is unbeatable for wear reduction, I have observed it in pressure wear tests. I don't sell or buy the products today because it's not cheap. I told him I had about a fourth of a tube of their grease left that I borrowed as I retired. He is going to send me a couple tubes for around the home lubing. I will be using it on my truck and other things. It is a red colored grease, and I have never had one complaint against it in my time of working. Yeah it is nasty gets on everything, but it works. Any way! enough of my freebies coming in the mail. Now I have been reading more and more about oil, because I find out the more I learn the more I realize how little I have known about oil. I even went out and read the back of the label on my two cycle oil that I recently got at wallymart. It says that it has antigel added to it. How about that for those that don't like two cycle oil. Also while I was talking to the man on the phone about the le products we got to talking about two cycle oil in the diesel fuel. The main concern with it is simple SMOG - pollutants because it's burning. Duh! doesn't all fuel burn? Well so much for the inteligence of the epa folks. He tried to sell me some of their additives for the fuel but i told him i only drive about 500 miles a year he said it is a waste of money, use the two cycle oil. So I knew that, I just didn't want to spend all the money for their stuff when my wallymart has antigel in it Thats enough for my post for now.- Fuel Gauge

- I broke down and got armorall
Well after owning my truck now for 8 years I went out and got some armorall and did the interior dash etc.Looks much better now. I never realized how bad it was until I sprayed some on.See you people are making me feel guilty about my truck looking bad.Sheessssssssh! Guess i'm just totally ashamed for not keeping it up.- Fuel Gauge
Normal Driving is around 12 psi.- Stereo Short Somewhere?
If everything quits it is lack of power. If the lights are on in the radio it's something else.Shorts blow fuses. Lack of power nothing works.- Yellow Jackets
Opened my door on my truck and the yellow jackets made a nest in between my doors, did it in one dayArghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!- Not a truck or Diesel Post
Ok another not a diesel post But this shows the computer is not developed, and neither are the people that think it is http://biertijd.com/mediaplayer/?itemid=21816:lmao:- Fuel Gauge
I have the new replacement for my truck that I installed with my rebuilt vp44.My driving around pressure is about 13 psi.If I hit the throttle hard from a dead stop until I reach about 80 mph it drops down to about 4 psi, and then instantly returns to the 13 psi.I never really do that kind of driving it was only a test.Mostly I just drive gentle. I handle my truck like I do my wife, Nice and gentle.- Fuel Gauge
I got my fuel gauge installed today, nothing fancy. It works and I can watch my pressure as I drive now. Running about 14 psi while crusing.- Floor Mats
- Floor Mats
Tonight my neighbor brought me a set of new floor mats for my truck.Said he got them at a yard sale for his dodge and they don't work.Well they fit my truck perfect and they are new, and say Ram on themLooks like christmas came a little early.- Order has been shipped
Got email! My order for my fuel pressure gauge has been shipped.Ordered a pillar pod to put it in so it will be to my left side on the pillar.I have everything to connect it after I receive it. Will be interesting to see my fuel pressure as I drive.I will keep up on my posting after I get the job done. I will snap a picture and send it after it is in and working.- Fuel Gauge
- Crusing
Well I took my truck for a ride today. First ride since my new vp44.Total trip was 50 miles round trip. The truck is really running good now, like when I first bought it.Crusing at 56 mph, and 1500 rpms. Indicator shows 22 mpg. Nice to sit and listen to the turbo hum as i cruise along. Everything is so quiet now with the two cycle oil in the tank.Timing must really be working great because I don't even hear any rattling diesel sounds, everything is scary because it is so quiet now.I never realized how bad the engine was until it was repaired.Thats my post for now!- How much oil
Well here is a link to a page that tells you how much oil for a given ratio. Now it will be easy to figure out a two cycle oil ratio http://www.csgnetwork.com/oilfuelcalc.html Maybee help to someone.- Finally!
Consider the wastewater industry. I worked 26 years as a mecanical tech on large stationary engines, and other mechanical equiptment. The work is steady, and the pay is ok. They also have several other positions such as electrical, and instrumentation techs, and computer techs, and etc.- Waste Gate Question
Ok I'll wait till the weather cools down, then ill go see if I can test my wastegate and make sure it's working.Thanks- Waste Gate Question
Ok time for another question!Does anyone have a link, or information on the process of checking the waste gate as a routine thing? How do yo guys check your waste gate? Is there a step by step method? or what?It doesn't seem logical to go around prying on things, or the such. There must be away to exercise it to get it to open and close.Information will be appreciated.- Ultra Gauge
Well go to this link and look at their product, and tell me how to hook it up to the fuel pressure. http://ultra-gauge.com/ZC/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=1- Ultra Gauge
I went to their page and dug around. The unit only comes with a obd connector so how will it read fuel pressure? It can't or if it should then why buy another type and connect it.- The Fly !
I watched the videos!I used to own and fly an ultralight. I used to fly cessnas every day after work.Tell him to watch for cross winds! Enjoy the flights. I did when I could afford them. Now I'm old and on soc sec and can't do them any more.It is lots of fun. Remember your only friend is altitude. - Oil Rant
