Doors and hinges
Wondering if anyone has had door hinges replaced and if so on the quad cab did anything need to be done with the rear doors? Interestingly enough I am having issues on the passenger side (which rarely gets used). The sheet metal on the door is getting a little mangled around the latch from hitting the striker post (is that what it’s called?). Also if anyone had a body shop do this, can you give me an idea of cost?

Big change in my life...
I am happy that as a virtual community we do have people that are in the vicinity and able to help (Thank you @BrianAtSmarty). You have a lot on your plate right now, have to at times slow down and take it all in and do what is best for you to get back to healthy. Moparmom obviously has to get her dialysis so you have to make that happen. But napping, and high nutritional quality foods when you are in positions that you don't have much choice of should help. I find when I get sick (now be it not anywhere near your scenario) I heal fastest when I am able to rest and sleep. Anyway, I know you have a lot on your plate of life right now, but make sure "taking care of Mike" is a large helping on that plate.

Big change in my life...
Mike, Good to hear you finding the positives in this scary situation. I think there are likely 2 reasons for all of the support here. You have been here and helped everyone possible on this site with their trucks. Good people always want to return help to those who have helped them. And the second part is where it starts with the common interest(s) which starts with the truck. This is how the world used to work, the common interest back than was survival and looking out for eachother to help support that survival. Sorry if I am rambling, but I bet a lot of people here would travel to Idaho for your “barn raising” and there would be no shortage of torque there Glad you are moving in the right direction Mike, thank you for all you do for the moparman community. Brian

Best or better anyway cruising rpm
Freeway was bunched up, will try in the morning. can someone explain what each line represents on our tachometers? Was dodge too cheap to make them make sense? Or am I just a dull knife in the block?

Best or better anyway cruising rpm
I have an '01 6spd dually, I will hit the freeway to go home tonight and see what my 6th gear speeds look like. I was running 55mph in 5th this morning at 2050-2100rpm. using the spreadsheet built on this website, that puts me at 3.55 gears with my 235/80/17 tires.

I will see about making that happen, in the meantime, your thoughts on the cruising RPM question? If it makes more sense to run at the higher RPM I will need to work on getting a muffler to kill the drone that I think is leading me to believe/feel like the truck isn’t running as smooth in that rpm band.

I am running a 235/80/17. Debatable what I will go to when these wear out. I have 3.55 gears

Big change in my life...
Don’t try to force the recovery too quickly. You were just opened up yesterday. Be ready to push your recovery a little when the time comes, but you are going to have to let your body rest a few days to recover from yesterday’s trauma to it. It will be amazing how fast you recover when you look back on this, but right now is “one day at a time” time.

Best or better anyway cruising rpm
So driving home tonight I spend a fair amount of time on a 50mph road. Truck seems to run at about (never realized how goofy our tach markings are) 1800-1900rpm in 5th gear at 50, or drops to around 14-1500 in 6th. Keep in mind I am empty (I know the towing answer) it’s pretty much flat the whole way (definitely use 5th to climb) just curious about the rest of the time. Opinions?

Seatbelt headache
The plastic trim piece on my passenger seat back is no longer attached to the seat, is there a cure for this? It drives my wife crazy

Rear sway bar end links
I know this old thread, but since I just replaced all of mine, i am curious what you do to keep them oiled up? Did you get them back on? I just finished mine so pretty fresh in my mind.

How well does your truck pull 8,000 pounds
Doesn’t want to let me put anything in it on the ipad
-
Let's talk about shocks.
I will have to see if I can measure the ones that came out of my truck. I bet they are 2”

Rear sway links
Rear sway bar is finally back in. Definitely makes a difference

Rear sway links
So it’s currently put in from the inside out, I see no reason why it can’t go in the other way like you say. Do you think I can I strap the rear of the tank and move it 2-3” to get that bolt out?
-
Rear sway links
Replacing rear sway links. On the drivers side do I need to move the fuel tank out of the way or did someone put this bolt in backward and I should put it back in the other way upon re installation?
