Hang in there. Listen to your body and try to give it all the rest it needs. I know that‘s hard when you’re a doer. As I have gotten older I have had to move my diet in a much healthier direction or I don’t feel as good as I want to. This situation may be a bump on that for you. Holding you in my thoughts.

Awesome so happy you are back home and doing so well in the recovery process. Take good care and get the rest you need. Try not to rush it. I know it’s tempting.

That's the spirit!. You've been on my mind. Thank you for sharing your struggles, vulnerability and truly bad *** warrior spirit with us all. Indeed God has more for you to share with us on this earth. From where I sit the world is a much better place with you in it. Please keep up the good fight. Somehow I know you will.

You are a brave warrior!! Hang in there and keep up the great work!!
  6. Does anyone know if the RV house battery isolator is integral to the truck tow electrical system on the 2001 3500 and if so where would it be located?
  7. Fortunately corrosion is not a massive issue here. My truck has zero rust. It was started its life in Oceanside, CA was in Kingman Arizona for a bit and now back to Cali.
  8. Break back in service. Vacuums leak found and corrected. There appears to be 28 psi at the vacuum pump which exceeds the minimum of 25. Thanks everyone for all of your comments and suggestions.
  9. Thanks good to know!
  10. What component seizes? I there a way to unsieze it?
  11. I like your style!
  12. Thanks for all of that great info. Yes that's why I'm taking it to a place I believe will do a comprehensive evaluation.
  13. I believe they did test the pump and found that it is not creating enough vacuum. He said he was getting a reading of 22 inhg at the pump. In the Dodge factory manual the minimum output is supposed to be 25 inhg. I will have the shop go through all the lines to make sure there are no leaks. If the pump is hosed do you know what the best replacement/rebuild option would be. The shop does transmission repairs, the just did my differential upgrade from 3.55 to 3.73 so they can rebuild things.
  14. Hi All, My exhaust brake has been loosing it's verve so I took the truck to Banks Engineering, well, because they are not too far from here and thought it would be fun to visit the mother ship. It was very fun!!! They gave me a tour of the campus, except the military work section, because then they would have to kill me. They are super nice and it's very impressive operation. But I digress. So they told me the diaphragm is good on the exhaust brake can, that was my theory, and the Banks system tested out from the manufacturer. They didn't even charge me for that inspection. Super nice people! What they told me is my vacuum pump is not providing enough vacuum, which is what is making my ebrake work. I don't have time to deal with this myself so I have a shop who will be looking at it on Monday. Is there anything else we should be looking at that could cause the deficiency in vacuum? If the pump needs to be replaced can anyone recommend a brand of replacement part? Seems the Dorman parts don't really last and I'm not too sure about the Cardone parts. The Mopar parts are ridiculously expensive $1,200 or something like that. Any pointers are welcome!
  15. Hi all I have a switch that is working but not on high. Also the AC is not blowing cold air. Any suggestions are where to start troubleshooting would be appreciated.
  16. I like this chart. I used it when I decided to change my ratio to 3.373. I have 33" tires. Going to the 4.11 would have been cost prohibitive as I would have had to change more parts in the differentials and overkill and make my gas mileage go down.
  17. I am just setting mine up as well. I tried using my iPhone but it was a bust. I decided to switch it over to a older used Android phone so I could dedicate that to the cause.
  18. I don't know how to characterize it. It just feels normal. No extreme change but it feels like it's not struggling to get up the mountain any more. Now to start tracking my data so we can get the tuning set up correctly for my setup. Will be away for a couple of weeks so when I get back I will organize my camera and Android so I can easily record the realtime data as I drive. I'll get a new thread going for that. No doubt! It's a 2nd gen though 2001. I wanted disk brakes. I lost an RV to brake failure up here one time so that a thing up here. That was a bad day. Total loos of a 1978 GMC Royal. It was a cool one too, complete custom build. The front wheel drive, Tornado motor, GMC RV was nifty. GMC made 14,000 units made about 11,000 are still in service. Minus mine :-(
  19. Your accelerated cool down via deceleration with only gears pro tip works like a charm. Things get rather warm after making the trip up the mountain a 2200 ft altitude change in about 4 miles. The road is very steep! Thanks for that!
  20. When I drove the 2001 Dodge (aka The Dragon) home for the first time shew blew billowing clouds of coal all the way from Kingman Arizona (the place of acquisition) to my home in Los Angeles. Hence the truck was named "The Dragon." There was a long list of items causing that voluminous smoke including: dirty fuel filter, tired injectors, busted intercooler boots, worn out legacy tuner (or not), cracked exhaust manifold, etc. With each measure taken the amount of smoke output was greatly reduced. After a lot of learning and a lot of fun adventures I finally won the battle! The last measure was changing the gearing in the final drive from 3.55 to 3.73 to compensate for my slightly oversized tires. As a bonus for that adjustment my speedometer is now accurate! Many thanks to this forum for all the assistance through the process to make The Dragon run all clean and pretty.
  21. or he could use a headlight with the gopro for better visibility in the nooks and crannies
  22. These videos are looking good. Great work. That camera is the right way to go. I'm looking forward to more videos. One pointer: on videos like the "Blown #4 injector line" one for shots in the motor it would be good to point a flashlight in there because the exposure is too dark to see the fuel coming out.
