Changed turbo and exhaust manifold - now I have white smoke under acceleration
Yes that's my theory. I'll get it out on the open highway this week and we'll see how it fairs.

Changed turbo and exhaust manifold - now I have white smoke under acceleration
I may have done this the right way. I always research the hell out of everything I do to make sure I have all the possible info before I jump into stuff. It seems you would want to seat the injector into the crossover tube so to you have a good purchase/seal there before you tighten down the crossover tube. That's more than likely how I would have thought it through just becuase it makes sense. I have to drive it some more. I just took a short run down the mountain and back yesterday. If it keeps blowing white smoke and that isn't there from just sitting and oil being introduced into the engine and exhaust pipe I will have more troubleshooting to do clearly. That's a good place to start. It didn't have any white smoke before I changed the turbo and exhaust manifold, but it did have black smoke so that could have been cloaking an issue like this. The Exhaust manifold was leaking so anything is possible at this point.

If I did something wrong I’m prepared to take responsibility for it. But if there was a defect in the turbo they should take responsibility for it. It is under warranty.

Changed turbo and exhaust manifold - now I have white smoke under acceleration
I sent the upgrade turbo back for evaluation. Oil found its way in my exhaust pipe and intercooler. It almost seemed like the return oil line was clogged or something. I checked the oil return line to see if I had any clogage and found no evidence of that. I'm waiting to hear back from DAP on the turbo. I had to pull all things cool air apart and clean everything up all the way to the intake. Cleaned the intercooler out, which it needed anyways. When I purchased the truck the boots had been torn for awhile so that was already on my todo list. The fuel leak was coming from the top of the filter bowl. The lid had backed off just enough to drip out a bit. Got a new stock Holset cartridge from Becks Pacific and put that in for the time being. That's something I wanted on my shelf as a just in case spare. Took it for a test drive today and there's still a bit of white smoke but nothing like before. It was going away as I drove it. Everything sounded and ran good so far. I'll get it out again tomorrow for a longer drive to see if it clears up all the way. I'll also do a block test on it just to be safe.

Quadzilla Tuning - From a newbies point of view
Hi all. I finally got my truck back running. Turbo and Exhaust manifold and a few other odds and ends needed some love and attention. I'm planning to install the Quadzilla in the next couple of days. All the sensors are in so it should go easy. I have a basically stock motor mods are BHAF, FRRP Factory Raptor Replacement Pump, Bosh RV 275 injectors. I will be putting an upgrade turbo S200GX-E in the truck soon and may upgrade my injectors at some point but the the ones in there went in in Feb 2018 and don't have a lot of miles on them so they stay for now. I don't know the first thing about this beautiful piece of Quad hardware yet, but a little birdie told me this is the place to school up. Some basic newb questions: So should I work with the on board pre-loaded tunes first are does anyone recommend something fun. What are the considerations. I'm not going to be drag-racing the truck. I am looking for good fuel economy, perhaps a bit more power, and I keep my 1800# camper on at all times so that's a thing. I tow various things on occasion. School is in session and I am your student. Teach my ya'll.

Crisis Proportion or Covid Craziness.......
Many of those people took a shuttle buss up the mountain to get there and had not cars. The question is why were they having a party with 200 people in a house during a pandemic? And they had the road completely blocked so none of us could get in or out. If we were in high fire season that would be a serious threat. It's a fire road and not cars are supposed to be parked along it anywhere.

Crisis Proportion or Covid Craziness.......
This is the heap of stupid that was going on up here where I live last night.

Crisis Proportion or Covid Craziness.......
That part that I find disturbing here in LA is that there are no ICU beds available. That's not normal. So basically if you get into a bad wreck you may die waiting for a bed.

FORD - For Only Retarded Drivers
I think of it like a giant moving slalom and make it into a game so it doesn't piss me off. I have developed some rather rad skills from driving in the mess of it all so I'm glad about that. then there are the mountain roads which I have on lock, even in a 32 motorhome lol. I like threading needles with that thing. Get me to a gas station where I will get within inches of the protective pipes and stuff just to freak people out lol. One time a big a** old cadi pulled out in front of me. I was driving a '69 vw, I was about 17 I think. I pulled the hand brake did 90 degree rotation slid the car to a stop parallel to and inches away from that old lady's tank. If I had t-boned her it would have been all bad. Didn't touch her car. I'm not afraid to drive anything, anywhere, anytime.

FORD - For Only Retarded Drivers
Don't get me started on the stupid stuff I see in LA every-time I get out on a road. My Operating assumption here is that "everyone is an idiot" defensive driving is a must in the greater Los Angeles area. The other thing I notice is the state of the vehicles here is completely insane. I see 4 different tires to match 4 different coloured fenders. Alignments so bad you can hear the tires scrubbing and smell the warm rubber as they struggle their way down the road. Then you have people moving a big pile of crap on mini truck with one piece of token twine strung over the top lol. Not kidding. I wish we had safety inspections here like they do on the east coast. All they care about here is emissions and that is a complete racket.

Care to share Your Most Horrible Vehicle Repair Nightmare?
Don't get me started lol I had a 26' 1978 GMC Royall RV. Calliper was jamming up and the brakes were overheating and fading going down the mountain. Had it towed to a guy in the inland empire who only works on these machines. A specialty shop. He did a full brake job, supposedly. about six months later when we drove it down the mountain the brakes completely failed and we had to crash the coach into a rock cut out to stop it. I was not driving it that day. The coach was totaled. Sad day for that cool RV, we're just lucky no one was hurt and nothing else was damaged beyond the coach.

What triggers the oil light to come on?
Yea but that light can be triggered by more than one cause. But if your oil pressure is too low, that's a sad day.
-
What triggers the oil light to come on?
So that’s a sort of wild-card something’s wrong light lol.
-
What triggers the oil light to come on?
Yers no oil light, just the pressure gage. @driply did a stellar job of explaining how that works.

Merry Christmas
I didn't hear back about if it was sent or received yet. I told her it was coming and she was super happy and grateful.

What triggers the oil light to come on?
Thanks lol So what you're saying is that I am the oil level sensor :-) Kinda like the way I am the dishwasher. But still what does that oil light tell us if it ever comes on. I don't have it on or anything, I'm just wondering. Is it just an ornament?

Merry Christmas
Enjoy everyone!!!!!

What triggers the oil light to come on?
So we have an oil pressure gauge, which I just replaced the switch for, that's buried in under the fuel filter etc. Is there a different sensor for oil level that triggers the oil light to come on? I'm thinking I would like to refresh that with a new one if there is. Thanks again for all your help, wisdom and especially all the silliness.
